We finally asked Jonathan. His answer stopped us in our tracks.

What’s the secret to your happiness?

If you’ve been to Fine Folk on a weekend, you know him. He’s the guy in the Fine Folk T-shirt. He owns every single one we’ve ever made. The one who two-steps through the front door like the floor is a dance hall. The one who fits right into the energy here and somehow lifts it even higher.

For over a decade, Jonathan has been coming in every single week. Same warmth. Same dance. Same level 10 good mood.

So this week, we finally had to ask: what’s the secret?

Turns out it’s not luck. It’s not circumstance. It’s not what’s happening around him.

It’s his mindset.

Here’s how he explained it:

“The answer is very simple. Life can only get better. If you’re in the clouds, you can go to the stars. And if you’re going down, just hold on, because you’re gonna go right through the core of the Earth and come out the other side on top again.”

A mindset that says no matter where you are, you’re on your way up. We’ve been thinking about that all week. ✨

So we’re starting a new series, Fascinating Folks of Fort Myers to spotlight great people. Jonathan is Vol. 1. There are so many more stories walking through our doors every day, and we can’t wait to share them.

Promises to younger me. 🛹

A message from Mike:
When I was 18 and living for skating, I made myself a promise…that no matter what adult life threw at me, I’d always make time to skate.

Today at Lakes Park, I kept that promise.

Here’s to never forgetting who you were at 18.

And to those who kept the bigger promises…the ones who gave everything so we could spend our days doing what we love. Happy Memorial Day. 🇺🇸
