It has been an honor to welcome The Father’s House to the farm for the past several years. Today, these ladies touched my heart in such a special way. They are so genuine and kind, and you can see the joy on their faces. The work that Katina and her staff are doing is remarkable, and it is so wonderful to see how these ladies are rebuilding their lives. There truly is something therapeutic about being outdoors in nature, and I’m incredibly grateful to share our flowers with such a special group.

This Saturday, August 29, will be our last public you-pick of the summer season. We can still accommodate appointments for groups, and we are happy to pick buckets of flowers for your special occasions, but we need to start prepping the field for a big tulip season. I know it’s weird for a flower farmer to say this, but I don’t love traditional sunflowers. Sure they look good in the field and people like to take photos in them, but once they bloom they only stick around for a few days and they are an absolute pain to pull up at the end of the season. However, I have to admit I’m a little obsessed with this one. Her lighter colors blend in with any arrangement and she gives off summertime vibes. We’re open until noon today and from 4-7 tomorrow evening if you want some for your bouquet!
