BRUISE FOOD!! Eat foods that are the colors of bruises and other colors the skin turns when it is showing signs of healing!!
Is what I have been saying to myself all week when I have seen posts asking for recommendations to help with allergies, joint pain, muscle soreness, and tiredness. Yes, it probably has been getting progressively worse the last couple of weeks. Yes, it is the heat. The body has to work harder to maintain your body temperature, this increases inflammation which increases histamine levels in the body. Increases in inflammation and histamine levels cause the lymph nodes to create more fluid increasing pressure in the joints and muscles. All this means that bodies are working harder around the clock for weeks now causing us to have less energy. Now, add in other environmental triggers such as, ragweed has been moving up in the pollen counts, and the body has to work even harder.
What Helps? Antioxidants!
The job of antioxidants is to protect the cells of the body, helping to reduce inflammation and histamine levels, boosting immunity, and increasing the body's ability to function.
Antioxidants are found in the colors of food, so eating the skin that you might usually peel off is best. Loose Leaf tea, blueberries, blackberries, pomegranate, dark chocolate, elderberries, plums, and so many other options help support the body throughout the day.
Personally, I drink 3 to 5 cups of Down to Earth Loose Leaf tea a day. Our Down to Earth tea adds an extra boost because it has fermentation in the drying process. I have awful allergies, and have had sinus pressure for the last 2 weeks as the ragweed has been increasing. So, I have started adding in a tablespoon of Elderberry Concentrate everyday.
It does take 5 to 7 days for the body to start showing signs of cell healing. That is why keeping them healthy in the first place is so important. The time you take now will not just help with next week but the next months as cold and flu season ramps up.
If you would like more information on our products like loose leaf teas and Elderberry Starters, feel free to message us. I am also available for nutrition consultations.
