We made the trip up to Schaff Angus Valley and spent the day sorting through an outstanding set of females. When it was all said and done, we were fortunate to come away with our number one pick — Lot 457.

Backed by the proven SAV Madame Pride cow family and sired by the breed-impacting SAV Magnum, this female is powerful, extremely maternal, and built with the kind of growth that moves a program forward. Proud to add her to our black Hereford herd at Windisch Farms and excited about what’s ahead. 🐄🔥

Three trailer loads hauled and we’re officially set for embryo implants with some of the very best genetics in the industry. The groundwork is laid, and later this year the results will be hitting the ground. Big-time genetics, big expectations, and an exciting future ahead.

I’m beyond excited to be adding these exceptional ladies to our cow herd! Their Churchill genetics will have a lasting impact on both our Black Hereford and Hereford programs, and I can’t wait to see the quality of progeny they’ll produce in the years ahead.

The Churchill cattle are truly outstanding, and we feel fortunate to bring that strength into our herd. One highlight is Lot 227—a pregnancy pairing one of the remarkable Churchill females (who sold for half-interest at $60,000 last year) with Jack Frost. We bid on Jack Frost ourselves when he sold, and while we didn’t get him, we’re thrilled to soon be welcoming his daughter. I already know she’ll be something special.

It’s hard not to wish time would move faster—I can’t wait to start seeing those Black Hereford calves hit the ground!
