Taking a little break from MiMiās pretZel making this evening and got on social media. I had a memory pop-up and it brought all the feels!!
Itās amazing to think this is my 4th season at Chaffee Crossing Historic District Food & Artisan Market!
With my creative flair, I canāt believe my presentation that first season was my product just laying on the table. It proves that it was stressful for me to dive into this venture. Used all my energy to have a product - packaging, labels, business name, canopy, tables, etc. - with no extra creative energy available. I did, at least, quickly go from a humdrum table covering to my signature hot pink before the first season ended.
The plan for that first year was to dabble a bit with my family holiday contribution of that flavorful spicy pretzel. (My Mom and Sisters were always the real cooks! I was in charge of pretty and tasty snacks. š¤£) But before the end of that first market season, I had developed 2 more flavors AND landed a brick & mortar for my product. So much for dabbling. š
It was many years ago that my nephew told me my spicy pretzels were so good and I should sell them. I had no idea how to make that happen. And then about 5 years ago, I visited the Kansas City Farmerās Market and it clicked. That was how I could launch MiMiās Spicy PretZels!
I began my research and found my perfect market home at Chaffee Crossing Historic District Food & Artisan Market!! It is such a cool and special vibe - from my fellow vendors to the amazing market director (both previous and current). AND YOU!!!! The best customers EVER!!!! I absolutely LOVE visiting with you! When you walk up smiling - thatās my clue that you have had MiMiās treat. Many of you I actually know your fav flavor!
Even though that first market season was stressful figuring out how to launch a small business, getting to smile at people and visit all day was such joy! Oh, and hereās my pretzels if you want to buy some. I genuinely adore meeting you and hearing your excitement about your market finds and your plans for the day! Seeing the Grandmas shopping with Grandkids. Moms & Dads with their little ones. The endless parade of fur babies. The besties out running around. YOU ALL are the joy of my market day!!
Now kids, itās gonna be hot Saturday but MiMi will be at market!! Come early and beat the 100 degree heat. It will be a cool 81 when market opens at 8:00 am. See you then!!
I hope you enjoyed hearing a little history about MiMi and your favorite treat!! ā¤ļø
