I joined CCAP (Careers through Culinary Arts Program) at 15 years old as a high school student, not fully knowing where the path would lead. Only that I loved the kitchen (mainly eating) and wanted to attend college.

Through CCAP, I was awarded a full tuition scholarship to Johnson & Wales University, which changed the trajectory of my life.

Last week, I had the honor of returning alongside fellow CCAP alumni to prepare dinner for the CCAP Los Angeles Gala. An annual event dedicated to raising funds for the next generation of hospitality and culinary leaders.

25 years later… standing in that same spirit of service, opportunity, and possibility but this time as a chef, alum, and supporter. Talk about a full circle moment!!

Grateful to give back to the program that helped open every door that followed.

As someone who’s not even a huge coffee drinker (don’t judge me)… this Ube Latte has me in a complete chokehold. I stopped by Small Batch for a little test tasting ahead of Queen of Flavor’s takeover and whew… it’s smooth, creamy, lightly sweet, and dangerously good.

A bittersweet update 💗

The sweet news: repairs from the fire incident have officially begun.

The bitter part: once repairs are completed, Queen of Flavor will not be returning to the space.

So… what’s next?

Right now, a lot of pivoting, praying, searching, and intentional decision-making. There have been several conversations regarding potential opportunities and locations, but nothing has been solidified just yet. This entire process has been mentally and financially draining, so it’s important that every next step is made carefully and with purpose.

In the meantime, Queen of Flavor will continue servicing Eglin Three Towers every Thursday (weather permitting), hosting occasional pop-ups, and accepting very limited pre-orders.

Good morning,

Last night, there was a fire at Choctaw Plaza. Thankfully, no one was injured, and for that I am extremely grateful.

At this moment, all businesses in the plaza, including Queen of Flavor are closed until further notice. I have not been able to access my shop since I left yesterday evening and have very limited information about any potential damages.

With a heavy heart, we will not be able to fulfill any orders for the remainder of this week. This includes workshops, Black History Month tasting, offsites, Eglin Air Force Base services, and Small Batches. All impacted clients will receive a full refund.

March orders are currently pending. I do not want to leave you uncertain, and I promise to keep you updated as we learn more.

I feel terrible having to cancel on you. Your support means everything to me, and I appreciate your patience as we navigate what comes next.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out. Your kindness and support have been overwhelming in the best way. 🫶🏾

And a very special thank you to the firefighters and emergency personnel for responding so quickly and keeping everyone safe. We are beyond grateful!
