Happy Halloween from your neighborhood pumpkin farmers! Theme this year was cats π. See you next year π
Thank you for a great 2023!!
We are now closed for the season. It was wonderful, hectic, and full of friends old and new. We usually quiet down on posts over the next couple months as we enjoy the holidays, but will provide 2024 updates along the way!
2024 season looking forward:
Flower Upick opens mid July: make your own bouquet!
Peak bloom is~ mid August - mid September
The fall pumpkin market rolls out Labor Day weekend
Sunflower mazes are staggered through the season
Hopefully we can sprinkle in some fun new events. We've also met a great new food truck friend that we hope will join us in 2024: Axe to Grind Cafe - give them a like and a follow!
Last minute pumpkin needs - we gotcha covered! It's a little drizzly but we've moved almost everything remaining under the tent. Opening at noon (Sunday).
Due to the weather tomorrow, today may be our *last day open* for 2023!! They're calling for showers all day so please don't wait.
Saturday 11-6 we are here, we are stocked and we even have flowers that escaped the frost! Now is your chance to stock up on winter squash (pie pumpkins, several varieties of acorn squash, delicata, butternut, kabocha and spaghetti - while it lasts!), fall decor, and we even managed to get some Jack O' Lanterns restocked for last minute needs. We hope to see you β€οΈ
We finally have a beautiful fall day! $10 grab & go bouquets, 5 sunflower stems for $10, sunflower maze (1.5 acres still blooming - $5 admission) and pumpkins! Definite last day for fresh, farm grown flowers (harvested this morning!). Frost Monday π₯Ά
Morning Pickin' Patch friends! Important updates:
First - we're open! It's our 2nd to last weekend - Sunday October 29th is our last day of the season.
Good news: The sunflower maze still looks pretty spectacular - mainly the back 1.5 acres. It's a little squishy, but if you bust out the boots you'll be in good shape!! $5/person admission (maze only).
Also! The flower u-pick is now closed. It's way too rough out there, just not enough good picks and we'd rather you remember it when it was beautiful π. We salvaged and have made $10 grab and go bouquets, for sale in the fall market.
LOTS of pumpkin stock: Jacks, Ornamentals, minis, gourds, winter squash and veggies (peppers, onions and garlic).
Grab some candy while you're here, its spooky season!! π»π
Today (Friday) we surveyed the fields and pumpkin/fall market area, and it's pretty wet. Car and foot traffic will turn this situation into mud in a hurry. So, even if it's not actively raining we're going to close the patch today in hopes that it will drain out for an awesome Saturday (11-6) and Sunday (12-6)!!
Hard to believe we were so desperate for rain all summer and now... this. π€·ββοΈπ
Morning all! It's a rainy day so we'll be staying closed today (Thursday). Keeping our eyes on tomorrow for another potential closure. Saturday and Sunday look promising π
Last day for sunflower maze! βοΈπ»π Fields of sunshine running wild! π€© Get ready to be mesmerized by this gorgeous view - we can't get enough of it! π»βοΈπ Open today, Sunday 12-6. $5 admission/person, 4 and under free.
Ok, it's gross out here. We're cold and damp, and it seems like everyone agrees that today is not the day for outdoor activities π. We'll be open 12-6 tomorrow!
We ARE going to open today at 11! We have lots of big carving Jacks and a huge selection of decorative pumpkins, along with veggies and other decor items in the fall market. The sunflower maze will be open as well! Cash or card, 3522 Nuttman Ave 46802.
Note!!! If the rain picks back up this afternoon, we may close early.
The rain forecast is pushed out to later tonight so as of now we're planning on being open 3-6pm. If it starts raining on us and we close early, we'll post a notice!
It's the last week for the Sunflower Maze! If you wanted to see it, there are probably only two good days - today (Thursday) 3-6p and Sunday 12-6p. The weather is calling for lots of rain, so we may have to stay closed Friday and Saturday. Please watch our page for updates on these days before heading out! $5/person admisson, 4 and under are free!
It's a beautiful day at the patch! Axe to Grind Cafe is set up and serving warm coffee and snacks, we have pumpkins galore and the Sunflower Maze & Fall Market is in full swing.

Sunflower overload! The Sunflower Maze & Fall Market is still on and we have some exciting updates for this weekend π
π» The back acres are blooming and paths are cut! These sunflowers are shorter than the others but it is super cool for pictures - float in a sea of sunflowers!
π» A Coffee Truck will be on site SUNDAY 10/8 ONLY from 1-3pm Axe to Grind Cafe !
π» We still have loads of pumpkins, gourds and fall decor out in our fall market area, along with some games to play just for fun! We also have a huge variety of winter squash, peppers, garlic, tomatoes and onions π€©
π» Admission to the flower fields is $5/person, 4 and under free. There is no admisson to the fall market!
π» The u-pick still has some treasures but the beds are getting tired. Please don't wait as this is likely one of the last u-pick weekends. $15 bud or $25 bunch - as many as you can fit! ($40 bouquet retired for the season).
π» We will be CLOSED tomorrow - Thursday 10/5 (rain). Friday hours are 3-6, Saturday 11-6 and Sunday 12-6.

Good morning Pickin' Patch friends. We are posting this morning to ask for your feedback. We attended this rezoning hearing last night and now the decision is in the planning board's, and ultimately your city council member's hands. This large industrial building is slated to go across the street (Nuttman) from our flower field, wildflower meadows and fall market. We will always support small business, and Murray Equipment has been in Fort Wayne a very long time. We are, however, concerned about the changes to the greenspace that is the current backdrop to our tranquil u-pick spaces. Being so close to downtown the risk will always be that the areas around us will develop, but Industrial (I2) is not exactly what we had imagined. So we ask, will this affect your experience here? Is flower therapy in jeapordy or do you think this layout is sufficiently aesthetically pleasing as a neighbor? Do you have ideas for how we could work collaboratively with Murray? This article shares more detail. Please share, add your feedback via comment, email us at [email protected] or if so inclined, email your councilmember directly. The decision is theirs to approve. Thank you β€οΈπ
The site at 3633 Nuttman is close to the Ardmore Avenue intersection and needs to be rezoned from single-family residential to industrial.
πΆ This Patch is made for Pickin'... Happy Sunday and hooray for football season! We don't have football, but we have co****le, pumpkins and a field full of flowers. ...and some SUPER spicy peppers. Reapers are only for the brave πΆ. Hope to see you today 12-6!
Mums, veggies, salsa kits, winter squash and pumpkins galore! Oh yeah, and a giant u-pick flower field π
See you today 11-6 or tomorrow, Sunday 12-6.
3522 Nuttman Ave, about 1/4 mile off of Ardmore!
What a . Tomorrow and Sunday look beautiful - don't wait to visit if you want to get some u-pick therapy! Tons of variety still available, but P.S., please pray for that liquid sunshine for us π§
Evening flower friends! Quick update on the Lisianthus beds! They're still going strong but we probably have ~ 2 weeks left. Also, cutting tips! Since we're primarily watering versus deadheading, you may see some faded blooms on stems. Don't overlook these!! The buds on Lisianthus will all open in your vase. Just trim the one faded bloom off (not the buds!) and cut the stem long to get the entire spray. I've made some edits to the final pictures for helpful reference.
Hope to see you Thurs or Fri 3p-6p, Sat 11a-6p or Sun 12p-6p.
Hi all! We're going to stay closed this afternoon due to the heat and forecasted 70% chance of the rain we SO desperately need. If we do not get rain, please do a rain dance for us, and then come see us Thurs, Fri, Sat or Sun when it's not so hot & humid π! π₯΅
Happy Labor Day! time! You will see these again in dried arrangements, pumpkin centerpieces, swag, wreaths, ornaments and more!
Ya'll... pumpkins have landed!!! The fall market opens today 11-6! We've also expanded our hours so we'll be open Sunday 12-6 as well. Don't forget about the u-pick - thousands of beautiful flowers for bouquets and sunflower and wildflower mazes for wandering π»π September is the best! π
