Happy Hooves and Hens

Happy Hooves and Hens Hello, what started out as 4H projects has become a bigger project. We raise Nigerian Dwarf Goats and chickens. All are ADGA registered.

We are on our 3rd year of milk testing with Flower making elite list 2024 and 2025. A family run backyard farm of Nigerian Dwarf Goats and a multitude of different chickens. We make homemade goat milk soap, containing all natural ingredients and essential oils.

Another milk test day in the books! 6 does on test. 2.5 gal of milk to keep the crew fed with more bottles than I can count!
Lots of barn time, lots of goat baby snuggles. Fancy Pants was the highest milker with 6 # for the day as a FF, 3 weeks fresh. Very happy with her! Most of the rest came in with 4 #. Love the milky data but it is a rough day for all!

Our early morning meeting to discuss the quality of hay has been called to order...

Dairy goats demand the highest quality of non-stemy alfalfa hay...
The high calcium and protein in good hay means more milk and happier mommas and kids!! Popular myths that goats eat anything or eat grass/ yards does not supply the adequate nutrients for lactating goats or growing kids.
