🌽 THE FIRST SWEETCORN OF 2026 IS GETTING CLOSE! 🌽
First, the bad news.
This spring was one of the most challenging we’ve had in a long time. We planted early, hoping to bring you sweetcorn as soon as possible, but Mother Nature had other plans.
Cold weather, saturated soils, and repeated 2–5 inch rains made these early plantings fight for every inch of growth. Because of those conditions, our first harvest will likely be smaller than we originally hoped.
Now for the good news…
It won’t be long!
The corn that survived those cold, wet days is growing beautifully and getting closer every day. The photo below shows ears from two different early plantings. They’re still young and developing, but they’ll be here before you know it.
And here’s even better news…
🌽 The later plantings look VERY, VERY GOOD! 🌽
Healthy stands, good color, and lots of reasons to be optimistic about the rest of the season.
Farming teaches you patience and perseverance. Some years test you more than others, but there’s something special about watching a crop overcome difficult beginnings.
Thank you for sticking with us through the ups and downs. We can’t wait to put that first dozen of 2026 sweetcorn into your hands.
The countdown is on!
