We rounded out 2021 with The Cottage Event Center’s New Year’s Eve Party benefitting Oak Hill Farm, a PATH Intl equine assisted therapeutic riding center. The evening featured a Prime Rib Dinner, and electrifying entertainment provided by The Mooncats,

Sadly, this was the last event to be held at The Cottage Event Center. We have enjoyed working with the owners, Jim Amstutz and Gale Mann, and their wonderful staff for many years. They truly delivered a first-class approach with their clients, vendors, and support of the Roanoke community!!!

Blessings to all of you as you move on to other adventures, and increased family time!

We are a bit behind with our social media, but have been blessed with wonderful clients and a wonderful staff.

We will work backwards towards the past two months...after Christmas.

Today concluded with a full Prime Rib Dinner graciously provided by a local employer for over 260 employees. This was our third year celebrating with them.

We had a blast featuring our Organic Popcorn Shooters with Maple Syrup Pearls, and Honey Foam. This dessert represented four out of six ingredients from producers in our region.

We also provided a Locally Sourced Interactive Dinner Party for the Silent Auction.

Our Vintage "Talking" China all nice, clean, and shiny is ready to head to a wedding reception tommorow.

The reception meal chosen by the Bride, her family, and Groom will feature regional and local foods.

We encourage using the Vintage China to encourage dialogue at events where people may be meeting each other for the first time.

The china gives them something to talk about, reduce the awkwardness, and "break the ice"...

...and here you thought we were just "Cookers"...

On Monday, we hosted our first-ever fundraiser, the Local Food Throwdown in the wonderful joined spaces at Landing Beer Company and Utopian Coffee & Kitchen. Local food enthusiasts, chefs, and producers joined us for an evening of friendly competition and inventive and flavorful food and drinks.

Wow! There are no words to express our gratitude for the support from our local food community for helping make it such a success. Between the sold out ticket sales, the generous donations of fun local food-themed experiences and foods in the silent auction, and pledges to the new Northeast Indiana Farm to School Fund, we exceeded our fundraising goals for this inaugural fundraising event.

There is something to be said when a small, by geographic standards, community comes together in large numbers to support an organization that works with 10 individuals at a time.

It's not about the economic win for any of us.

It is the "Life Win", by breaking the barriers of the past, severing the "roots", guidance, training, and opportunity.

Tonight was an opportunity for me to "Listen"...I needed it.

What a wonderful couple!

The whole experience with the Bride & Groom, family, friends, and setting was like a beautiful painting that came to life...
We are enjoying a delicious lunch made from local food curated by Walnut Hill Catering & Events.
Walnut Hill Catering & Events catered our wedding! From the first time I met Jim Huffman I knew I made the right choice. He explained everything in detail, and if I had questions he was always happy to answer them. He made sure to calm my nerves by checking in with me in the last week before the wedding! The day of the wedding he made sure everything was perfect! We had a small issue with our cakes, but Jim figured it out. He went personally to get a cake, and cupcakes! He made sure we had a cake to cut, and dessert for our guests!! The food was delicious, and he packed up leftovers to take home. Jim and his staff do an excellent job! We definitely made the right decision hiring them!
Day 3 of our Young Entrepreneur Summer Camp was so much FUN!

Campers took a tour of Cookspring Kitchen, spoke with Walnut Hill Catering & Events and Icing for Izaac, who also provided lunch and yummy desserts! Played at Promenade Park and talked with Design Collaborative on the design and build of the park, as well as visited Fort Wayne Outfitter's Bike Depot & Bike Hub. Campers finished out their day with a special frozen treat from Whip & Chill!

I would like to shout from the rooftops.... I ordered the pan of Lasagna and is was so delicious, cheesy, meaty and the fabulous smell in the air when I pulled it out of the oven. I will be ordering this again and trying other items!!!
We had our reception at the Charles and let me tell you.... we originally had a list of entrees that were popular from the venue like breasted chicken and such and I felt I needed to pick one from that. I was having an American/Mexican wedding and after talking with the Chef we came up with a plan of having half chicken half pork carnitas, rice beans, guacamole, homemade salsa, etc.... Guys, it was as authentic as I wanted! Fantastic! The presentation as excellent. I had veggies and chips and salsa as appetizers and they were great as well.
During the day I got ready in the bridal suite there which chef catered our lunch for us. Nothing super big as I needed to not be stuffed in my wedding dress so we had chicken salad on croissants with chips and mimosas. I am not a fan of chicken salad but I actually really enjoyed these, must of been how it was made. Loved it and much appreciated the time and effort taken to make our day great. Highly recommend. ❤️ 10 stars
At a cursory glance, Chance Bar's Four Course Menu for Savor Fort Wayne appeared to offer a traditional Midwest taste and feel; however, it was far from that. It travelled international boundaries with taste, texture, color, food history, and tummy-feel, and featured local ingredients, including beef from Wood Farms and vegetables from Schmucker's Produce.

For starters, the Local Potato and Leek Soup with Buttermilk and Potato Dumplings, Smoked Onion, and Caraway was reminiscent of a German potato soup with the “micro-spaetzel-esque” dumplings and caraway essence. It wasn’t a Midwest carb-driven, nap-time soup. We also couldn’t resist sharing Chance’s delectable Chicken Liver Mousse.

Suddenly the second course changed the umami flight path directly to southeast Asia. The taste and texture of the Local Veggie Pakoras with Bacon and Date Chutney, Horseradish Sauce and Fresh Coriander resonated with the culturally driven, spice infused batter covering the perfectly prepared vegetables

When it comes to meatloaf, we often just have that memory comprising the “best of times or the worst of times” of ingestion at the family table. Bowers has elevated meatloaf to another level with his selection and preparation of Wood Farms Premium Beef, Sweet Potato Puree, Grilled Broccoli, Ras El Hanout, Sweet and Sour Cranberry. Particularly notable was the Ras El Hanout which is a spice mix found in varying forms in North African cuisine. Its Arabic translation implies a “mixture of the best spices the seller has to offer”. Our party also enjoyed Chance’s Ricotta Dumplings and Wood Farms Dry-aged New York Strip.

Ricotta Donuts with Banana Jam…Course Number Four. These were a unique combination of a traditional Italian Zeppole, and the crispiness of a northeast Indiana County Fair Old-Fashioned Doughnut, with delightful Banana Jam enveloping every doughnut.

A wonderful Baltic Porter crafted by Fortlandia Brewing Company, Fort Wayne’s first Nano-Brewery, was enjoyed throughout the evening.

All in all it was a Midwest comfort meal with a beautifully blended taste of flavors beyond FWA.

Our thanks to Jim Huffman of Walnut Hill Catering & Events and Chair of our Board for this review. ,
Wanna thank Jim and all the staff at Walnut Hill Catering & Events for their amazing donation of Christmas dinner for our Veteran family!!! Thank you so much guys!!! Truly blessed!
