Went away on business to Minneapolis for the last 2 weeks…. (Do not recommend btw) and got ”the call” we all dread as reefers; power outage. So I’m prepping to coach my wife through generator start up procedures…. Lights come back! Crisis averted? Nope! My poor hydra/hybrid system got surged. Coming home from an extended stay work trip to ripping your system down is a special place.

Fortunately as all of you who know me personally will expect, I had some stuff hoarded and slapped it together but drug myself to bed super bummed and mood off.

Woke up this morning and WOW, I can’t believe I was sleeping on these orpheks. I have a problem with holding onto stuff that I paid big bucks or saved for, but the difference between 3 hydra + 4 t5 and 2 orpheks is like going from a tv antenna to 4k.

Took some quick pics today between all the madness, and it truly does no justice. I didn’t realize I’ve had these lights since 2015!

If you’re ever wondering how to blow more money on your tank, highly recommend modern led 😂

Happy Easter!

Going to be consolidating my systems into one big one (8ftx4ft!!!) over the holidays, if anyone is looking for turn key frag systems let me know! Have plenty of awesome equipment.

On a more personal note, this last year has been tough both in general and for CCF, bringing folks on, parting ways, changing day jobs, and personal health have all kept this thing from launching like I wanted. that said, I am still here with coral, I am fragging/cutting/growing a bunch of great stuff for when I can afford to start up again. For all the friends I’ve made so far I am sorry for not getting stuff out to you like I had hoped/promised, but hang in there. You know I take care of my own, and for those that are customers only please be patient and I will have more great stuff coming in 2023!!!

Going to be adding my wife and mom to the employee roster in true country fashion, it’s gonna be great but like fine wine it’s gotta age!

Took a quick video of the barn systems right at lights out.

Firstly I want to apologize for not posting much if at all recently, had some major life/job changes happen and I had to focus on that first. With that said, this brings me to a couple very exciting things in the near future. The first one is for y’all, the second is for me.

1) I am going to be doing a VERY large purging of what you see in these videos so I can break these lowboys down. I realized recently I’m arguably running 4 seperate systems in one, so why not CONSOLIDATE?!

I’m sure y’all are worried I’m giving up, quite the opposite actually! My goal with this big offload is to clear 70-80% of this, take some time to break down/clean/store my current equipment, and bring in the other news

2) I was able to acquire an 8ftx4ftx1xft acrylic monster tank, instead of running 4 skimmers/lights/pumps/carbon/uv I will now be running 1 massive system. The heart of this system is going to be 3 Orphek Atlantik v4, reef octo 200/300 int skimmer, large UV/carbon. This setup is not only gonna be easier for me to maintain, but I think it’s actually gonna be cheaper to run too! Gonna be some real stunner fish making a home in there too….

I am going to lose my butt on some of these pieces but I have learned my lesson on rushing systems together, I don’t want to feel stressed with this big of an upgrade. If you see something you like….. PM me!

Well well well….

Getting my display setup ready for Aquashella Aquarium Festival this weekend. Going to have a lot more for folks if they wanna ditch that basic bag and move to some quality coral transport. Check us out at the TRSC Aquatics booth…. Now I’m working on a little demo to show y’all what else is out there to choose from besides the Lil’ Dipper, hope it helps both you and us as we all grow 🙌🏻

Video of the CCF Lil’ Dipper in action

! NO LIVE CORAL WERE HARMED IN THIS VIDEO !

Had someone ask “how well” the dipper holds a frag plug in place. This was my response.

The glue between the plug and the skeleton I glued to it broke apart before the plug moved an inch….

Rest assured your frag will get where it’s going safe with the dipper!

Wanted to go ahead and post our first “official” break down on the Lil’ Dipper.

Been getting some traction/interest on the CCF lil dipper frag transports. Alex and I designed these for ease of use and multi purpose needs.

This holder comes two ways, either as a turn key unit with the cup or just the insert (100% success so far with random cups but no guarantee).

This holder doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, doesn’t look flimsy or throw away, and allows for larger branching coral.

The Little Dipper is multi faceted.

First it is a retention grip frag plug holder with horizontal and vertical protection. This allows the coral to stay in place if our favorite shipper isn’t as careful as we are.

The second feature is the vertical retainer doubles as a grab handle to move your coral from the shipper to a dip of your choice without having to dig it out.

Third, once the coral is ready to be placed the vertical handle can be removed to become an in tank frag holder to observe your new coral.

Lastly, the ease of use and time needed to go from tank to box is mere seconds as compared to bags/water/air/rubberbands, or fighting the flimsy holders/condiment containers others use.

Get all the benefits of a $10+ frag carrier/transport without breaking the bank, providing yourself or your buyer a well thought out, shipping/dipping/holding/protecting carrier for our favorite animals.

Currently these are at order to build status with recurring pick and pull available. As we grow in capacity we will have more on hand for immediate availability.

Thanks for checking it out!

As things are starting to take shape here at CCF you’ll be able to follow along as we grow and expand! Cheers to 22 and beyond
