It's brew day! Today we're making our winter batches: Chocolate Pecan Stout with chocolate malted barley and fresh roasted pecans; Bourbon barrel aged quadruple with honey, Belgian candi sugar, and chamomile; and our Bourbon barrel aged winter warmer with winter spices, orange zest, and smoked pecans.

2014 is here and we're looking at what beer to brew this year. I think several of the favorite beers from 2013 need to be brewed as soon as possible! What beers would you like to try again and what kind of beer would you like us to brew this new year? Some of last years favorites were:
- honey blonde ale
- bourbon barrel aged brown ale
- German kölsch
- lightning strike summer ale
- strong scotch ale
- pumpkin wheat ale

Well, due to a mishap at the brewery supply store we ended up with less grain than we needed for our Imperial IPA, so we have to brew that one tonite. However, the Bourbon Barrel Brown Ale and the Pumpkin Wheat are in the fermenters and should be ready for bottling in about 17 days (maybe a little longer for the Bourbon Barrel Brown ale).

The Pumpkin Wheat had a nice mixture of brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, allspice, and pumpkin that we caramelized and slowly simmered on the stove before it went into the wort, and it smelled like fall! Can't wait to taste that one!

Brew day today! We're going to be brewing up 3 batches for fall tonite... just in time for November drinking! They are:

- Imperial IPA #42
- Bourbon Barrel Brown Ale
- Pumpkin Wheat Ale
