It's been a minute folks, but I've had my hands full. Helped with the and now I'm moving on to my next passion, the Bike MS. But I'm finding time to enjoy and write a review. Here we have the 2020 Grand Bateau from Barriere Freres and Château Beychevelle in Bordeaux.

Pleasant aroma of chalky soil and violets. Plums, to***co, leather, oak and a hint of white pepper. On the palate, smooth with flavors of dried raspberries and hints of allspice. Supple leathery tannins. Gets a little juicy as it opens up. Quite nice, great QPR.

There are few things I obsess over. Here are two. The tomato basil soup from ruins any pre made or restaurant version. I had to get some before this freeze. The other is the buttermilk sourdough from Fort Worth. I went there three times over the last two days to get some. Friday morning they were over flowing with it, thankfully. It makes the best toast and grilled sandwiches, that is, if you like a solid crunch and not a doughy sandwich. The cheese, gruyere and gouda, from as is the brut sparkling from .perdrier

Clean drinking sparkling, dry with a hint of fruitiness. Aroma of golden apples mingled with lemon meringue. Clean and bright on the palate, the lemon shines through and there's a nice cleansing acidity on the finish, not too astringent but very approachable. Super quaffable and refreshing. Perfect for this meal.

The soup, is heavenly. Excellent balance of tomato, cheese, fresh bits of basil. The cheese was perfectly gooey and the sandwich was the perfect dip for the bread.
