Great news on the competition front this weekend! We brought home some hardware from the 2026 Alamo City Brew Battle, hosted by the San Antonio Cerveceros. This is a BJCP-sanctioned competition and part of the Lone Star Circuit.

Our Irish Stout earned 2nd Place in the Scottish Ale & Irish Beer category with a score of 44/50, while The Louisville Belle (Kentucky Common) scored a silver in the Historical Beer category. Our Hazelnut Coffee Porter, Donut Dunker, also had a strong showing, earning 3rd Place in the Spiced Beer category with another score of 44.

Really happy with how these beers performed against a strong field of entries and talented brewers. Huge thanks to the San Antonio Cerveceros and everyone involved for putting together a great event.

J Calven Howell and I had a great time this past weekend road-tripping to Nacogdoches for the Nac Brew Club Spring Brewfest! It absolutely delivered. Great crowd, great beer, and we've already penciled it into our calendar for next year.

AND, we were lucky enough to bring home some hardware:

- Best Overall (Brewer Vote)
- 1st Place – Crazy Category (Brewer Vote)

Cosmic Juice Trip (Apple, Cherry, Cranberry, Cinnamon Cider)
- 1st Place – Cider/Wine/Mead (Brewer Vote)
- 2nd Place – Cider/Wine/Mead (Public Vote)

Always cool to see what styles resonate with both brewers and the public at these types of events. Appreciate everyone who stopped by to try our beers—already looking forward to running it back next year!

We’ve had an absolute blast over the last few months partnering with Lance Minser (The Sour Boule) and Steve Ballantyne on our 2025/2026 Iron Mash entry.

No hardware this time — but plenty of positive feedback, and I'm proud of how it turned out. Already looking ahead to the next one later this year!

Some collaborations hit a little different. 🤎🍻

We were invited to help curate a muffin specifically to pair with a homemade beer being entered into a competition, and honestly—what an honor. 🙌

From flavor balance to mouthfeel, this wasn’t just “let’s bake something good.”
It was:
✨ How does the sweetness land against the beer?
✨ Where does tartness lift instead of compete?
✨ How does texture play with the finish?

The result? A mini sourdough white chocolate cranberry muffin, finished with a rum-cranberry forward drizzle—crafted intentionally to complement, not overpower, a beer someone poured their time, skill, and heart into. 🤎

Being trusted with that role—being brought into someone else’s creative process at that level—is never lost on us.

✨It’s why we do what we do.✨
