Chaundra’s family farm

Chaundra’s family farm Skyfall Family Farm is a local heirloom farm located in the Van Duzen river valley. The Farm has won many awards local and National.

Growing up in Humboldt County from a family of seven children, we value family above all else. Our belief that we are what we eat prevails through every meal and everything we give our children to eat. Diabetes, obesity and heart problems are all direct results of our diets in this country. Processed foods and agribusinesses have reduced varieties of food to monocultures of GMO corn, soy, and c

anola, the three most heavily subsidized crops in the country. Our philosophies and the ideas behind local farming go hand in hand. We can't see a future for our community without local food production. It is a passion for us to grow food. We have made sustainable agriculture and organic gardening our mission, pursuing the education of our people and our children. We believe options are limitless with local food production, especially in our community. We are dedicated to the production and the distribution of local food. We believe that this is a goal shared by many who want to make a difference. Our produce is of the finest heirloom seed stock, varieties that have been grown for hundreds of years without genetic alterations. These varieties were carefully selected by humankind, from generation to generation, looking for the finest specimens, and even then, still refining the varieties until they reached desired quality. Eating fresh and local is the best choice we can make for our future and the future of our families. Eating local is economical and sustainable, for everyone involved. What we can spend at the supermarket over a six month period, is but a fraction of what we can spend supporting a local farm and recieving large amounts of freshly harvested produce weekly, for up to six months, and soon.... year round! This kind of agriculture is called community supported agriculture or a C.S.A. We support a fair sized C.S.A. and would always like more members, and are here to answer any questions. Feel free to contact us if any questions regarding a C.S.A. or for a registration brochure go to our website www.chaundrasfarm.com and click "contact us" and fill out the form.
