I haven’t posted anything here for quite awhile. I just finished a little expermental project, a solar powered fencer. The fencer is an old 12 v parmak I had lying around, the panel is 50w, with an Amazon solar controller and Li-ion battery. Out of pocket was $160. If it works I’ll make a portable stand for it and clean it up a bit inside the box.

We are adding in a line of Beefmaster cows and crossing some of our linebred angus with Beefmaster bulls.

The first set of Beefmaster cows have been here for a year now and doing well in our management. It’s been enjoyable learning about the breeds development and seeing how they thrive in adverse conditions where other breeds may not fare as well.

Hay size comparison. With hay prices skyrocketing make sure you know what you are getting. Density and quality have to be evaluated as well.

Use a 4×5 bale as base, that's 4' wide, 5' tall(diameter).
4×5²=4×25=100
4×6²=144, so 44% more.
5×5²=125, 25% more
5×6²=180, 80% more
6×6²=216, so 116% more
