We were selected for a $5,000 California Restaurant Resilience Fund grant through Restaurants Care !!! 🎉
It was incredibly emotional being on a Zoom call and learning that every food business represented had been selected to receive a grant. I couldn’t help but tear up while watching some of the other owners break down in tears, too.
Food and restaurant business owners are constantly navigating an ever-changing economic and political world—usually while working 80+ hours a week behind an oven or grill, serving tables, and doing everything else it takes to keep our businesses going.
With this grant, we will FINALLY be expanding our wholesale operations with help from Cody & Thomas and Jersey Scoops on the delivery side! Creating a stronger wholesale program will give us steadier income during the slower winter months and help make Patches’ Pastries more resilient for the future.
Now we want to hear from you: Is there a favorite coffee shop, grocery store, or other local business where you would love to find our pastries, cheesecake slices, and other treats?
We hope to return to North Coast Co-op and expand into other local grocery stores as soon as the grant funds arrive & our second oven is installed. We miss our Eureka and Arcata customers so much—and only seeing you during the Humboldt Made Friday Night Market | Eureka + Arcata just isn’t enough!
Anywho, it’s also Kyle’s surgery day here in San Francisco, and there is so much to be grateful and excited about right now. I hope everyone has a beautiful Weekend!!!
