Market Manager Musings wk 2
If I had to put a title on today's market it would be peripheral goings on.
I had to spend some time training on a new benefit we're offering starting next week (more to come on that soon) but I could see and hear what was going on around me. Kids playing with the red,white & blue themed glasses, headbands, toys, etc to celebrate Flag Day, customers asking questions of vendors, people excited to find their next read in the free book area and a local RI content creator snapping pics for her social media pages to name a few.
All these people were new to the market which made it even more delightful to witness, even from the outskirts.

Good morning -
If you came to opening day last Sunday - Thank you! It was so amazing so see repeat customers and meet new ones also. We had 5 new vendors join us that day. 2 of them, Quiet Corner Wax Melts and FunGuys Grow Kits will be season long vendors and the other 3 Sweet Deliveries, Coffey Pots and The Rising Bun will be back throughout the season.

This week we are celebrating Flag Day by providing flags and flag-themed items to take a selfie with and asking that you tag The Foster Farmers' Market in your posts on social media.
The kids' activity table and free book area will be set up each week too.

It looks like Mother Nature is giving us another beautiful Sunday for the market so we hope that you join us under the trees at Shady Acres Shady Acres Diner from 9a-1p.

Vendors this week:
*Teaberry Gardens - Wide selection of perennials, herbs, shrubs and other garden plants as well as house plants. A variety of bird, toad, butterfly and bat houses
*Pea Shoot Farm - produce, veggie plant starts and soap
*North Foster Farm - pasture raised, non-GMO eggs and chicken
*Burning House Hot Sauce -and BBQ sauce
*Foster Farmers' Market - info, t-shirt and tote bag sales
*Choiniere Family Farm - Meats( Beef, pork, chicken, lamb, goat), animal fats(tallows), raw wool
*Chopre Naturals - tallow based skin care
*Little Poultry Shed in the Woods -permaculture plants and produce. Duck eggs. Upcycled birdhouses, feeders, planters, etc.
*Foster Fresh Honey - jars and individual 'to go' sticks
*FunGuys Grow Kits - Oyster mushroom growing kits
*Quiet Corner Wax Melts - handmade soy wax melts
*Sweet Deliveries - whoopie pies, sweet breads, cookies, etc
*Double R’s Whipped Tallow - Beef tallow moisturizers, soaps, body scrubs, chapstick, lip balm, and specialty lotions.

*The Rising Bun - Sourdough breads, cinnamon rolls, etc.

Even though we have a well-rounded vendor list, we still would love to add local maple syrup, fermented foods, jams/preserves and berries to our lineup. And cheese! Always looking for cheese!

Market Manager Musings wk 1
Wow! Today was absolutely incredible!
A full docket of vendors, kids 'creating' at the activity table, a mom reading a book to her child (and taking a few home) in the free book area, repeat customers, new customers, potential new vendors- it was more than I dreamed of all winter.
So to everyone who came out to support us - a very heartfelt thank you.
I'll see you next Sunday!

Hello to all our followers -

This winter was one for the record books so it's hard to believe that the opening weekend of our market season is TOMORROW!

I'm happy to announce that we now have 11 seasonal vendors and a great variety of other farmers, cottage pantry producers and artisans that will round out our market each week.

There will also be entertainment, a kids activity table and a free book area (an homage to my love of reading and sharing book joy) each week.

Entertainment: Sweet Sophia - a 4 piece, all-female bluegrass band will be playing. They have a great sound!

Vendors this week:

Last years season long vendor number has grown from 7 to 10 with a variety of occasional vendors that most week's the market will host 15 amazing farmers, cottage pantry producers and artisans !

We are beyond thrilled to congratulate .lu and .shoot.farm for getting their Organic Farm certification! They have always used organic practices but they put in the extra work and dedication to the process to make it official.
You can find them every Sunday at our market.
