We have some great family friendly activities planned for Sunday! xen fay will be here with her always unusual array of animals plus Robert and Scott from Little poultry shed in the woods will be doing a DIY Wooden Pumpkin decorating activity.
We hope you're able to join us tomorrow, Sunday 10/18, from 9a-1p at Shady Acres for our 2nd to last regular season market. And we'll be posting about our pop-up markets soon!

*Chopre Naturals - tallow based skin care
*Little Poultry Shed in the Woods -permaculture plants and produce. Duck eggs. Upcycled birdhouses, feeders, planters, etc.
*Foster Fresh Honey - jars and individual 'to go' sticks
*Nacho Fuel - great tasting mild, medium and hot Mexican salsa
*DM Design - Beaded jewelry and ornaments, seasonal resin items and seasonal fresh arrangements
*The Dizzy Giraffe - a small local bakery based out of Cranston, RI that specializes in focaccia, scones, cookies, and cakes
*ADD Acres - fresh produce, grapevine wreaths, handsewn novelty items, etc

We've got the perfect fall activities planned for this Sunday 10/18! xen fay will have the most adorable animals to play with and then the kiddos can decorate a wooden pumpkin with Little poultry shed in the woods!

Market Manager Musings-
How are there only 2 more regular season markets left?! I feel like I was just counting down the weeks until it began. Today, so many customers commented on it, as if they will also be saddened by the end of it. But, the vendors perspective is something entirely different. They are more relieved than saddened because they now will have the time to evaluate how things worked, make adjustments and plan for next year.
And the season doesn't technically end until our last pop-up in December. But, come January I'll be on the hunt for more vendors, sponsors, entertainers and activities to bring this amazing community together.
I hope to see many of you in the next 2 weeks and at any or all of our postseason markets:

11/8 2nd Annual Sip and Shop at Nickle Creek Vineyard from 12-3pm
11/29 Hometown Holiday Sale at Shady Acres from 11a-2p
12/5 Bright Night at the Foster Fairgrounds from 5-8pm
12/6 Holiday market pop-up at Foster Center Volunteer Fire Co from 12-3

One of my favorite things about being a farmers' market customer is truly eating seasonally. The market starts with sprouts, greens, breakfast radishes and the like then transitions into the bumper crops of summer with lettuces, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, beans and of course zucchini! And as the cooler weather approaches we welcome the arrival of squashes, onions, garlic, beets and winter greens. And as the shift in produce happens so does my cooking. I go from preparing crisp green salads and sides to making hearty soups and stews that I will preserve for the colder winter months ahead. I'm also fortunate that the egg, poultry and meat purveyors are accessible year round. I'm not a farmer, but I'm so thankful that I know a few that keep me well-fed with the most prolific offerings of the season. With this Sunday marking only three weeks until the end of our last regular season, I hope that you'll come by to stock up on your staple items while you grab a sweet treat or handmade gift and listen to local author Susan Joyce tell the story of her rescue dog, Billy.

We want to thank all of you who took the time to cast your vote for us. We came in 2nd in the state, which isn't bad for a market that is only in its 4th season. We may be small but we are mighty! And congratulations to Scituate Rotary Farmers Market who took 1st place!

Don't forget, we run every Sunday through October 25th from 9a-1p at Shady Acres - we'll see you then!

Did you know that October is National Adopt a Shelter Dog month? And did you know that local author, Susan Joyce, wrote a children's book about her rescue dog Billy? Well, we're lucky to have her at the market on Sunday,10/11, where she'll be reading the story and will have copies available for purchase. So, bring the kiddos, grab a hot cocoa from Shadys and let them enjoy a little story time while you shop.
