Market Manager Musings
Celebrating......that I wake up each Sunday excited for what market day will bring ..3 months of markets in the books..the friendships formed among vendors ..meeting new customers and welcoming back repeat ones..the compliments received about the vendors ..vendors already planning for our post season pop-up markets

Most of all, a toast to all the vendors, customers and volunteer activity providers who make each and every market successful. I truly couldn't do it without you. ♥️

Is it us or did August pass in the blink of an eye?! At this time of year, when summer is almost over but we haven't totally transitioned into fall people start thinkng about preserving produce, stocking up their freezers with cuts of meat or chicken, holiday baking, decorating and gift giving. No worries - we have a full line up of vendors in every category this week for you!

This week, we have a favor to ask of you -
we are taking part in the American Farmlands Trust Celebration to recognize Americas favorite farmers' markets across the country and we would love to take home bragging rights for Rhode Island! Our vendors this week are:
*Pea Shoot Farm - produce and soap

*North Foster Farm - pasture raised, non-GMO eggs and chicken

*Foster Farmers' Market - info, t-shirt & tote bag sales

*Choiniere Family Farm - Meats( Beef, pork, chicken, lamb, goat)

*Little Poultry Shed in the Woods -permaculture plants and produce. Duck eggs. Upcycled birdhouses, feeders, planters, etc.

*Foster Fresh Honey - jars, creamed and sticks

*Sweet Deliveries - Mini pies, whoopie pies, cookies, muffins, crownies, sweet breads

*The Rising Bun - homemade sourdough breads and treats, crafted with fresh milled flour for better flavor and nutrition.

*ADD Acres – fresh, locally-grown produce, fresh cut flower bouquets and more

*Coffey Pots - handmade mid-fire Stoneware creations designed and created by local artist Stephanie Coffey. Many designs are based on nature and are all made to be functional.

*Nacho Fuel Salsa - hot, medium and mild salsa

*Dizzy Giraffe - focaccia bread, scones, bagels, muffies and cookies

Foster Center Volunteer Fire Company
and Bob Horton, Fosters own astronomy guru, will be providing all sorts of fun activities.

A few of my morning gratitudes-
*enjoying a hot coffee in my warm greenhouse
*excited anticipation for a busy market
*knowing that the people doing the activities at the market on Sunday are ones that I can now call "friend"
*the dedicated, hardworking vendors that will be there

Market Manager Musings-
Whoa! Considering that today was the 1st time, in 11 weeks, that we've had rain on a market Sunday I think Mother Nature was making up for it!!!
But, despite the weather the vendors never complained and the customers still showed up- and were appreciative that we were there.
Having grown up in Worcester, where people stay indoors in any sort of bad weather, I love how people here view a rain storm as a mild inconvenience.
Thank you to all my amazingly tenacious vendors and all the customers who donned their golashes and umbrellas to slop through puddles to support them. I (we) appreciate you 💛🧡❤️
