We have BIG NEWS!!! Hens & Hee-Haws is expanding! We will now be offering our baked goods at Mountain Charm! We couldn’t be more excited than to have this opportunity to provide our goodies to a wider area. This week we will be delivering Everything Bagel Bread, Blueberry Cobbler, Blueberry Crisp, and Cookie Flights featuring: Chocolate Chip, Caramel Pretzel, and Pecan Turtle. Please come out and support us and the other amazing vendors at Mountain Charm.

It’s National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day, y’all. You know I just had to make some to celebrate! And here at Hens & Hee-Haws Farm we like them as chunky as our donkeys. A batch will be dropped off at Market on Main - Madison, WV in the morning! Come get ya some.

On this week’s MEET THE CREW we want to give a shout out to a crew member who helps keeps things running behind the scenes. Today, we introduce Clifford. He’s in the management side of things. As evidenced below, he specializes in holding the furniture down to make sure it doesn’t go anywhere. Very important work, and apparently very tiring as well.

Clifford came to us ten years ago and was here before the dream began. He helped to brainstorm and support us as we made our very first steps in becoming a farm. He snored his way through planning meetings and showed up long enough to grab a snack. He puts his two cents in his very now and then by barking at the ducks, the cats, the wind…(our poor UPS guy gets no peace). He’s helped us raise kids, chickens, and crops from the comfort of his recliner. He is the bestest boy and no better boy has ever existed.

So, if you stop by to say hi, come ready to give plenty of chin scritches and don’t be surprised if you asked to share your meal, or snack. Clifford welcomes all the attention anyone is willing to give him before taking another nap.

Okay, so for this Sunday’s episode of MEET THE CREW we will just have to admit defeat and introduce all of the sweet little ducklings.

They would not even consider selfies for a second. They are as thick as thieves and refuse to be separated, no matter the circumstances. Which, it just ups the cuteness factor, really. So l, instead of one snuggly duckling, you get a six pack. The three Goth ducks (Cayugas) are Mochi, Sushi, and, our singular drake, Udon. Our girls Mochi and Sushi could possibly lay black to gray eggs one day, so we will keep you posted on that. They are a breed native to America and their numbers have dwindled a little bit.

The other three are Welsh Harlequins and this breed originated from Khaki Campbell, but with a better disposition. These girlies are Chai (which we introduced last week), Mocha, and Cappuccino. These sweet ladies will eventually be a beautiful tan with colorful accent feathers on their wings. They will be slightly smaller than their emo besties and will lay white-ish eggs. They have grown so much in a week and they all have such big personalities!
