The animals still need breakfast, even when life feels upside down.

No matter what happens, chores don't stop on a homestead.

Our kids have shown incredible resilience this week.

They've cried, laughed, sorted donations, and then headed right back out to care for the animals they love.

This lifestyle isn't always easy, but it teaches responsibility, perseverance, and gratitude in ways nothing else can.

Today we're thankful for the simple blessings—wide open fields, faithful farm dogs, curious goats, fresh eggs, hardworking hands, family, and the freedom to live this life we love.

We don't take those blessings for granted. We're especially grateful for the men and women who have sacrificed so much to protect the freedoms we enjoy every day.

Wishing you a day filled with laughter, good food, fireworks, and memories with the people you love most.

Not the fanciest photo (thanks, kids 😆), but the memory behind it is one I'll always treasure.

Our beautiful Californian doe proudly earned Champion Stewer at our county 4-H fair! 🏆🐇

We're especially thankful because this marks two years in a row that rabbits from our rabbitry have earned Champion Stewer—last year with a different rabbit, and this year with this sweet girl. Seeing the results of careful breeding, good nutrition, and daily care is incredibly rewarding.

Raising quality rabbits isn't just about ribbons—it's about teaching responsibility, good stewardship, and producing healthy animals we're proud of.

Congratulations to this special girl! ❤️

🐇 Meet one of the newest members of the Silly Goat Farmstead family! ❤️

We're so excited to announce that we've added a beautiful breeding pair of American Chinchilla rabbits to our rabbitry!

This is a special heritage breed that's currently on the watch list with the Livestock Conservancy, so we're excited to do our small part in helping preserve them for future generations.

Our hope is to begin raising quality American Chinchillas and offer pedigreed babies here at Silly Goat Farmstead in the future. Stay tuned for lots of updates as they settle into their new home!

One thing I love about dairy cows is that they don't care what's going on in the world.

Bills.
Stress.
Fair week.
Laundry mountains.

They still show up every day expecting breakfast.

And honestly, that's pretty grounding.
