Hey family π₯°
I have been in prayer about the Secret Acre and I've finally gotten some peace about things, so I wanted to share them with you.
I started this page as a personal blog with the intention of documenting our homesteading journey. I have LOVED doing that!!
Chicken raising was just the beginning of what we knew was a brand new lifestyle in the making. Since then we have dabbled in ducks and geese, and who can forget our time with Betty the beautiful turkey.
When we came up against some major changes in our life, we had to give it up briefly as we stepped into a new season.
The Lord has transformed so much.
Later in 2024, as we were right at the end of a very long journey, I began using my Mom's kitchen as the brainstorming ground of a new thing.
Thanks Pamela Fazzino for letting me make all the messes, and for being a faithful and honest taste tester always.
I became quite good at baking bread. It was a creative outlet that I desperately needed.
This built confidence to really start dipping my toes in the baking world. Before I knew it I was baking pumpkin chocolate chip loaves, banana bread, sandwich rolls, you name it. And then my staple seasalt chocolate chip muffins that have become so highly sought after!
What growth. I used to say I can throw down any meal you want, but I couldn't bake to save my life. I know now never to doubt what God can do in you.
I lost my chickens.
My coop.
My ducks.
Even my land seemed not to be able to come to this new chapter with me. My will to continue keeping up this blog was gone.
But never my hope.
Today, in the beginning of 2026, I have so much more.
A brand new home. More land. A new coop being built. A beautiful flock of 16 baby chicks that I get to love and hand raise. I cried when I learned it was time to bring them home and start again.
And the coolest thing? I have a little home bakery operation (born in the kitchen that I prayed for while I found a way to be content in a 36 foot camper).
I've done my first farmer's market.
As I was preparing for that market, my Dad presented a new idea.
Cake pops.
He sent video after video of tutorials and ideas. Thank you Rafael Colon for believing I can do anything, even when I don't.
Well, as the Lord would have it, I spent exactly 2 days dabbling in cake pops before I had nailed the recipes and dipping techniques. And, again, the confidence that built up wouldn't let me stop there.
I started dipping everything I could get my hands on.
Oreos.
Pretzels & pretzel rods.
Apples, bananas, & strawberries.
I'm getting ready to make homemade rice krispie treats and dip those.
I've begun documenting here again.
But this feels different. So I took it to the Lord in prayer.
What are You wanting here, Father? What's Your vision, Your plan?
The Secret Acre is where it all began.
Even once I get my hands on hundreds of acres, it will all have started with that one hidden acre tucked back in our own quiet corner of the world where no one saw what God was doing.
It's for homesteading and livestock raising and bread baking and homeschooling and quiet moments with the Lord.
But the dipping.. the treats.. it's different.
It's a new thing.
It's high end branding and gourmet presentation.
And so, through much prayer and consideration, I have decided to separate the two.
The Secret Acre page will remain my blog. I will show you guys our new chickies and the coop in the making and our beautiful new piece of land. You will come along as we transition them from the brooder and eventually get our first goat. And I just can't WAIT to share it all.
The treats will move to a new page with a business plan and a whole new name. A space and a life all its own. And I can't WAIT to share that with you, too!!
If you've read this far, I thank you for caring. For interacting. You're so special and so important.
I pray blessings over each and every one of you, and I give thanks to everyone who has believed in me, and even just those who have been interested enough to stick around.
LOVE YOU ALL π©·
