Hello everyone,

I apologize for neglecting our Facebook presence for so long. Last year I had to pick up an extra job (which means 2 jobs with a commute, plus operating Anderson Acres), and was stretched too thin to give all of you the attention you deserve.

Last year I was able to stay minimally operational & we took in some customers who contacted us through phone & email. This year will need to be different. I will only have enough time & attention to maintain our stock.

With this in mind, we have decided to close to customers for the season of 2024. I hope to use some of this time to improve our shopping experience for you. Once we have made the progress I hope for in this regard, I look forward to communicating it with all of you!

I apologize for this inconvenience, but I hope all of you understand. I look forward to seeing all of you in 2025!

𝗛𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟮:

Hello all! Our Hostas are still covered for the moment, but we will be uncovering once the threat of frost is gone. We will be 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟰𝘁𝗵.

Our hours will still be by appointment only. We don't plan on selling at the Minneapolis Farmer's Market this season. However, I want to continue to lean into mail-order more this year. I'll be reaching out to those who have expressed interest in mail-order individually.

If the drive is too far out of your way this season, we'd be happy to ship your Hostas to you!

I'll continue to add updates as time allows. Website updates are still underway.

We are looking forward to serving your Hosta needs this season!

More (photo) updates coming tomorrow. I'm about to go take photos before work today. I haven't updated the website yet--we've been flushing irrigation systems, doing yardwork & preparing the sales area. I keep underestimating how long these things take. We're making good progress though!

The last couple frosts have damaged some leaves. At the moment we don't have any row cover (which would have mitigated the effect of frost). Between that & the hail, the Hostas are having a rough spring. I thought about pushing back the opening date, but I've decided to just share pictures now & over the next few weeks to let our customers decide. I think in another weeks time they'll be pretty well recovered.

For anyone wondering, we will still be appointment-only out of necessity--as I work full-time elsewhere.

I'm excited to share our progress so far. We're not finished, but it's a big improvement & I think you'll appreciate it.

2021 Seasonal Update

Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well! I meant to give everyone an update on our plans for this season last week, but we've been very busy uncovering & getting ready for sales.

We're planning on an opening day of May 15th!

Everything is now in one location & we'll be preparing for organization between now & opening day.

Right now a majority of our Hostas are just budding & I think by opening day they'll be starting to unfurl. (We had some hail damage to some in our latest storm--but it was only the early risers that were damaged, the majority were untouched).

I'll be making some updates to our website & Hosta list I think this week, and hopefully have some pictures to share here before too long (hopefully next Wednesday).

We're almost there.

With new vaccines & lowering risk assessments locally, we can see the end is in sight when it comes to fighting COVID.

However, with news of new strains & other potential dangers, we will still have our same COVID response in place for the season of 2021 (or until government mandates are lifted). Our customers' health & safety is our highest priority, so we will be erring on the side of caution.
