This boy was quite a surprise. I thought I had all females. I have no idea why he looks like this. I have exhausted all resources and I can’t find any bird that looks like this. Almost like a tortie cat. ❤️❤️❤️

Alright, I am taking bets. My button is hatching her second round of eggs in two months. Babies just got out of the maternity ward and should be born around the 31st. I added a coturnix egg to her mix and she has been sitting on it. Who thinks she will actually hatch it?
P.S. the coturnix egg is the larger, white one in the nest

Sweet Mama Hazelnut sitting on a new batch of eggs as the kids play with daddy. They are almost ready to leave the maternity ward!

More blessings here as Mama Hazelnut who just hatched three little babies completely on her own, is sitting on another nest with a bunch of eggs before the babies have even left the maternity ward!!!

The little brown button you can barely see has been broody and sitting on eggs for about a week. All of these other birds are the supportive community, coming out to support the mama and eggs. I LoVe them!!

Cootie Bug here wandered into our fenced backyard (solid wood poles without any slots or spaces) during a Florida typhoon. She was about 6 weeks old and alone. We added her to the homestead. She is so not a cat!
Nelo, our adolescent male quail that I have been nursing for over a week with coryza jumped around my bed for over an hour and feral kitty peacefully slept at the foot of the bed with zero interest is the bird.
Peace is always possible!!!!!

Homestead brunch… even though I can barely walk. Swiss chard, spinach, tomato and squash blossom eggs. All from the homestead. Daffodil green, mint, lemon balm and fruit salad. Mostly from the homestead. Yum yum

I am blessed again!! I was wondering why I was not getting any button eggs but I just shrugged about it.
I knew my little Hazelnut was missing and I sadly came to the conclusion that she had somehow escaped the aviary. Well.... she is sitting on her eggs and clearly has been for some time now. Unfortunately, I have no idea when they will hatch. It is the cutest thing. When she gets up to eat, drink or take a break, my little Peep sits on the eggs. ❤️❤️❤️
