One of the most commonly asked questions is "How much meat do I get with a half hog?" While the average hanging weight of a half hog can vary slightly, it is usually around 100 lbs. Once the meat is cut from the bone and packaged there will be some water weight lost so you will receive approximately 75-80 lbs of meat ready to go in the freezer. A half hog last our family of 2 adults approximately 6 months - we generally have pork once a week for dinner and bacon and/or sausage once a week.
