We officially have our first 5 pounder! I want to hold out a few more weeks until we can have a few 8 pounders and then we’ll have our pasture raised chicken at the market. How exciting! 😃

We are finally getting eggs! It’s not much, but it’s the start of finally reaping the reward of a long wait.

We wanted to make sure we knew everything that went into our eggs and so we purchased all of our pullets this spring. They are growing into some happy ladies with the best free range eggs!

I am so excited for eggs to really start building up so that we can offer these at the farmers market every week 🙂

One thing I absolutely love to do is to cook and bake seasonally, especially when the recipes are near and dear to my heart.

Nothing tastes like Summer quite like Key Lime Pie and Peach Cobbler 😋 which is exactly what we’ll be bringing to the market today.

We’ll have our usual lineup of course, but I love to have something different each week that includes the tastes of the season.

Yesterday was a great day for our broiler chickens and young turkey poults. The Freedom Rangers upgraded yet again to live out their last few weeks in an absolute grazing mansion, and the young poults will graduate from the brooder into our outdoor brooder space that has fresh grass and more sunshine ☀️

Everyone seemed so happy with their new homes. It’s such a joy to watch our animals flourish ❤️ when they’re happy, I’m happy.

Just a few pictures of the morning. It’s such a beautiful day so far with a slight chill in the air, just perfect to keep the mosquitoes away during the morning chores 😊

I love making my rounds and seeing how everything is growing, but sometimes I forget about the sunflowers because they are separate from the main garden. They are getting big and I can’t wait for them to bloom.

The hardest thing I’ll do all day is keep my family away from these until the market starts.

I’ll be bringing these delightful Triple Berry Custard Crumble Buns to the Southside Community Farmers Market today from 4:00-6:30 😋 along with mini key lime pies and mini blueberry pies.

I love creating food with the flavor of the seasons, and these are amongst our favorites.
