We have a date for shearing this year. It will be May 24th around 4-4:30 P.M. Anyone who would like to come out and help will be welcome! We will have some lunch afterward, with water, coffee, and of course a sweet or two! LOL

Wear boots if you have them in case it is muddy. (Hope not), but we never know what it's going to be like!

A big "Thank You" goes out to all those who helped last year. Please feel free to come back this year, we need you!

Hi Everybody, sorry it's been such a long time for me posting anything, but have had a busy "summer", if you can call it that! First of all we have two "new" dogs Max and Cody. Both Pyrenees. Cody is half something else. He's still a great dog. Also we lost Bella to laminitis. She got so sore she could barely walk, so the Vet came out and put her to sleep! She's running now by the "Rainbow Bridge" with all our Critters we lost! We won't have "Open House" this year, due to covid-19. It breaks our heart to not have all you nice people come visit our farm. Ann said she would be willing to meet with small groups who would like to come and visit, provided you will wear masks. We must take precaution, because of our health and my age. We have some socks, and other Alpaca items you can purchase!
Anyway if you would like to visit on a one on one basis, we'd love to have you! Please give us a call to set up an appointment. Thanks, and have a great Autumn.😄😄😄

Had a great time at the Solon Springs sale this past Saturday. It went quite well despite the threat of a major storm, which struck last night, dumping at least 14 inches of snow. Thanks to my wonderful neighbor Doug, who so graciously plowed us out we can make the vet appointment tomorrow for Benny. I want to personally thank all the gracious people who attended our event, and thank them for shopping locally. These people know the value of hand crafted material. We were short a few vendors, but all in all it was a great day!👍👍👍
This was our last sale for this year, so watch for the opening of the Farmers Market in Superior, starting in May 2020. We'll be there every Wednesday,(weather permitting) with still more fine alpaca merchandise.

I guess it's time I posted the winners of the stuffed alpacas. We drew names about 3:45, there were still people hear, so we drew. I already said that. Anyway, the winners were Skye, and Karter.😄😄😄 They just happened to be here yet, so the lucky kids took home their prize. I think Karter took the small fluffy one, and Skye the tall fuzzy one. They were both very happy kids.
Thanks to our many friends, neighbors, relatives, and just people interested in seeing what an alpaca is. Hope you all had fun, I know Ann, Kim, and I did! See you next year!🥰🥰🥰

Well today was "Open House Day"here at DCFA, and it was a great day to greet old friends and new. The weather was perfect, a little cool, but all in all was a beautiful day. It was a special day for me cause Dee Dee and Anna brought out the 'Kids". My two wonderful grand kids, and their cousin Ely (sic). Sorry! The best part was to hear Grants incredible laughter. It was a mock sound I make when I laugh. I nearly fell over. I'm sure Anna got it on her phone, so she will probably post it on FB. We will continue with Open House Sunday, so if you missed it today, please feel free to come out tomorrow. I know it says rain, but only 30%, so that means 70% no rain. Hope to see you hear then! Mac and Ann.

Well summer is coming to an end, drats, but there is still time to come out to the farm for a visit. We are doing some sales event for the next few weekends, but we are home during the week, so if you'd like a tour of the farm, call and set up an appointment and we'll see what we can do!
We will be having our usual "Open House" the last weekend of September, the 28th and 29th, from 10 till 3 or thereabouts! You can meet the alpacas and get an up close and personal view of this magnificent animal! There will coffee, snacks, hot cider, water and other goodies to snack on! No RSVP necessary, just wear boots and jacket (if cold). Our little shop of alpaca things will be open for your looksee, and maybe a demo of sorts if time permits. Hope to see you here soon!

Weather has been a big factor on the farm the last couple weeks. One of the water heater plugs came undone, and water in one of the buckets was frozen, so had to break ice and get some hot water to warm it up. No major big deal, but we have lost one of our beloved guard dogs, "Trixie". She past away the night after we had her spayed. That wasn't the cause of death, but the Dr. said she had a whole in her stomach big enough to put his hand in. He collected specimens and took pictures cause he had never seen this before, so we don't know for sure the cause of death. Will post more when we find out. Hope all our alpaca fans out there are doing well in the start of this "New Year". Stay warm (with alpaca socks and mittens) and I'll get back to you ASAP. Thanks for watching. Trixie, Gone but not Forgotten!

These photos were taken during our Open House the last weekend in September. Everyone seemed to enjoy a little up close and personal with all our animals. We had about 50 people here this year. Not as many as before, but there were several things going on in town, and the weather was beautiful, so some went to the cabin for the closing. We had a great time visiting with all the wonderful people that came. Thanks to all of you who helped, especially Kim, who took care of the shop.
