One of things we love most about the farmstand is the opportunity to share the recipes/ideas/products that we use in our own households. Today we shine the spotlight on vertical storage.
In our opinion, vertical storage is a beautiful addition to a kitchen or pantry wall; but it also has a practical purpose: allowing airflow to produce like garlic, onions, peppers, and herbs to stay fresher longer. By braiding, or stringing up, these types of produce we reduce the risk of early spoilage due to condensation build-up. In fact before modern technology, braiding garlic was the traditional method of long-term storage.
Today at the stand, you can find braids of 10 hardneck garlic for $10. We hope you enjoy this addition to your kitchen!
