The past 6 weeks have been a whirlwind. 7 states with unique breeding programs. This is just a sampling of a few photos from various ranches. I have the best job in the world and am so thankful for my wife and kids who care for everything while I am on the road.
In regards to a program, do we hit it out of the park every time no. But, like in baseball if we can hit doubles and triples all season long we will have a great season. We evaluate every animal on their own physical characteristics at the same time review their pedigree. The goal is to make the next generation better. If we find a flaw we make sure the sire or sires we are mating her to will fix the flaw and enhance the other characteristics that we feel are superb.
You will see some huge horned animals in these photos. You will see young animals that are showing extreme promise. It is always so exciting to watch these bulls develop from adolesce to herd sires and the impact that they not only make on an individual program but an industry.
We encourage all of you to reflect on the blessings in your life and enjoy the simple everyday things. God Bless you all and enjoy your holiday season with family and friends.

I got to see a few exciting herd sires today at A&S Land & Cattle, as well as offspring on three of these four dudes. Scott and Amy Picker have a very nice selection of females that embrace the total package of the Texas Longhorn. They host a wonderful sale in the Pacific Northwest in June. I married my high school sweetheart Rhonda 40 years ago. We have one son and two daughters. 5 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. I am an avid bow hunter. I purchased my first Longhorns from Mike Bowman of End of the Trails Ranch in 2007, and it has been an exciting time to watch the breed evolve to where they are today. We strive to have animals that are uniquely colored, famine females with great bodies and wonderful horns.

We have met a lot of wonderful people over the years in this industry and are currently running about 50 head of registered animals and currently utilizing IVF and ET work to move the program forward as quickly as possible.

Mike is offering two unique individuals. One of these LL Maybellene has been a donor in their embryo transfer program. She has a heifer calf at side that is showing some wonderful potential.

The Spanish Oaks Ranch is located approximately 2 hours west of San Antonio, TX. Nestled on the outskirts of the Texas Hill Country. Junction, Texas. Owning ranch property was always a dream of Cassie and myself, and the Spanish Oaks Ranch is their very own slice of heaven. The ranch encompasses four large pastures, two seasonal creeks, a large pond, and 25-mile views enough to make your heart skip a beat.

The cattle operation was a present for Cassie's 40th Birthday. We purchased two cows and skipped forward a few years to have a herd larger than they could have imagined. I have become a little obsessed with the breed. I spend much of my time researching different genetics and bloodlines. I love to meticulously search the internet and his magazines for his next prospects. As a family, there is nothing more enjoyable than watching these incredible creatures move about the pasture. It's a wonderful hobby and a joyful addiction for the Vanderford family.

Robert and Cassie have two consignments in Saturday's Sale in Locus Grove, OK. Heart Strings is a 3-N-1 package bred back to JBR Net Worth. Their second consignment is preg checked at two close to call but has a heifer calf at side sire by SOR Super Duty who is closing in on 90" TTT.

Trickle Creek Ranch is owned by Jason and Brooke Linden of Ellsworth Kansas. As a relatively new to raising Longhorns cattle, they are doing wonderful things. They have leased industry-leading sires to add influence to an already powerful lineup of females. In 2023 they bought out a herd from Western Kansas which included the now 90" TTT Beretta bull who is a son of Hubbells 20 Gauge. Their daughters have been achieving high 30's at 12 months and several are over 60" TTT at 24 months. His oldest daughter that they own is Berretta's Hollow Point and was 78.875" TTT at 3 years 3 months, and already giving us two daughters. The first one was conceived at 11 months of age.
The Lindens, their son, and three daughters all enjoy the cattle and stay involved in all aspects of the ranch. In Mid-October Johne's Tested all the mature animals on the ranch and everything was Negative. They have also pulled DNA on the herd to ensure that every animal they sell is certified to their TLBAA paperwork.

3P Ranch was named after our 3 girls and raising Longhorn Cattle has long been a dream of ours. We started with our first heifer in 2015 and have been hooked ever since. We have focused our breeding program on raising the total package longhorn focusing first on a docile temperament, top-notch mothering characteristics, and excellent conformity first and foremost then we turn our attention to horn, size, and coloring. Although relatively new to the industry, we have worked hard to build our herd and to bring in the best genetics we can afford to complement our program. We have a passion for breeding flashy, unique show show-quality animals that you'd want in your breeding program as well long after their futurity season ends. We have a love for the true blacks and the twisty horns and the patience to grow them.

It's a family affair on our ranch with our girls assisting with animal caretaking and jumping in when needed and our youngest even has her own small herd of heifers she has started. Jason handles our feed and nutrition program and ensures not only are our longhorns in top condition year round but so are their pens and pastures. Barb is responsible for all paperwork, marketing, sales, and veterinary care, and after her and Jason finalize upcoming pairings for the season, their breeding program. We always joke when we meet someone, that if you've got a question about how our cows eat, ask Jason, but if you have a question about an actual cow, ask Barb.

Longhorn Opportunitiesortunities has been a blessing to us in filling in the gaps we needed in order to build our herd to what we have in such a short period of time and make the buying decisions that complement the program we are growing. We've worked with Justin for a little over two years now and he's a wealth of knowledge when it comes to not only pedigrees but the specifics of what we are looking to achieve when it comes to our buying, selling, and breeding investments. It's invaluable for us both to have someone to turn to and bounce those ideas around and get unbiased input to finalize our decision-making.

Jason and Barb have an 88" TTT cow in the sale that has been a horn champion as well as a futurity champion in her younger years. She is bred for a spring calf to Royal "T" one of their senior herd sires who has done a phenomenal job. She will be ready for your embryo program after this calf where she make an impact for generations to come.

At Harrell Ranch, we are committed to developing and breeding the best Texas Longhorn cattle possible. We have used the top bulls in the breed, mated to outstanding females to produce a consistent quality product. While we love long horns, we breed for the total package, never overlooking conformation, color, size, maternal traits, and traditional Longhorn attributes.

It takes time to develop the standard we set for ourselves and we have been methodically working on our program for more than 30 years. Cambridge Bluff Farm is the home of Rory and Carla Edwards. We are fairly new to the Longhorn business, starting in the fall of 2020. This is a family business as we have our 2 sons and daughter and their families involved and learning right along with us. We have been working with Justin Rombeck, Longhorn Opportunities, from the beginning as he is working alongside of us, guiding and teaching us all about Longhorns. We are striving to have great genetics in all of our longhorns to produce the best all-around longhorns in their conformation, color, horn, and growth.

Danley Cattle Co.- Danley Cattle started in 2016 with the purchase of two longhorn for our back pasture. Little did we know, our love for the breed would grow quickly. Before we knew it, we had over 100 head almost overnight. Our program has changed from where we first started and we pay close attention to body and conformation. As a family we have been very active and we hit the show circuit hard. Most weekends are spent on the road traveling to shows and promoting our breeding program. We all enjoy the time we get to spend together with other breeders and exhibitors. We are fortunate to have raised the 2021 and the 2023 World Grand Champion Bulls.

Everything that Todd, Amanda, and the kids do is 100%. They strive for perfection in everything that they do. Work, School, sports, and cattle.
