B.O.B. is flying out of the distillery since we "unleashed" it on the Bourbon universal mid-September.

Available for pre-order in the GCD Vault, available Thursday for purchase and pick-up in the distillery.

I wrote the post on finishing because we have been finishing some of our amazing bourbons in a Japanese Mizunara oak barrels and we think that one of them will be ready soon (perhaps January 2027). Also coming up we will have the annual release of Crimson Crow on Halloween. Keep your eyes here for news.

Apparently, I am behind the times. I was still under the impression that the finishing time did not count towards the total age. Now this revelation leads to some new thoughts here. For example, what if we took our R.W. Robinson Infinity wh***ey (stored in used barrels) and put it in a NEW barrel for finishing. Would it then become bourbon? The rules for bourbon just say it must be stored in a new charred oak barrel, but it doesn't say it has to be the first barrel. Hmmmm....

We had a great day at BOBF. So many people came over to offer their sympathy and prayers regarding the fire. EVERYONE knew about the fire. We have gone from people saying "We have never heard of you" to "Oh, you are the ones with the fire!" A reminder- we are open and all visits and ground walks are ON SCHEDULE!
Thanks to Chris and Jesse Blankenship for handling the tastings and Tom Jones of 5094 distilling for sourcing the tent and other swag and for helping to pour and answer questions. Thanks to the crew back at the distillery who had a ton of visitors come in.
