DONE! Here’s a little side project I have been knocking out in the evenings. This 300 head nursery unit feeding floor will tremendously streamline our process, and now we can move them from the farrowing barn over about 50 feet to this set up to feed them a few weeks to the 80 pound size then they will hit the truck for little Havana in Southern Florida for the ethnic demand of roaster pigs. Waiting on the three feeders to put under the shed, and the next group of pigs will run through it.

Sorting out a sub group of 12 gilts out of our Sow Group A and moving to a dirt lot with this Hampshire boar this morning for a batch of X-Bred feeder pigs.
The other sub groups will be purebred Yorks & Durocs.

Some of the FINEST production bred stock I’ve ever seen walked of the trailer here this evening. 16 Yorkshire Gilts fresh from Iowa & 16 Duroc Gilts fresh out of N. Illinois and ready for their Boars next week on Valentine’s Day ❤️ Can’t wait to see these gals fall in and complete our two 30 sow groups.
IMO We are officially in the 🐖 biz now and nowhere close to the hobby farm size. Big enough to be making 💰 but small enough to enjoy and have the kids involved daily.

Busy day “relaxing” and moseying through chores/sorting stock. At one point the new bull was running through the yard and had jumped the cattle guard 😩
One thing is certain, there’s ALWAYS something to fix or improve out here!

Old bloodline 13 gilts on one side and 13 barrows on the other in our hilltop feeding floor with lagoon. Started on feed and growing great now.
We Love seeing our system in rhythm and working like it should.
