After a rough week at the farm, Maddie Grace got her first bird on youth day! This gobbler has been tempting me for days. I had to take a trip today and couldn't be with her. So our friend Stephen, who is a much better turkey guide than I, got her setup on this one. After some griping about getting up too early and what was more of walk than expected, I think she decided that turkey hunting is fun and worth the work! 11 1/4" beard! I think she out did Ole Dad and Stephen on the first time out!

I don't normally make posts about our personal lives here, but this one deserves a mention. Sadly we lost our Hank today. We have had the privilege of having him around for almost 9 yrs. He has been a blessing in our lives! Hank was absolutely one of the top dogs to have lived on this farm in my 46 yrs here. Hope you have a cat or two to harass in heaven buddy!
