I had this great idea to add an emu duo to the farm… and let me just say, these babies are absolutely feral and I’ve already asked myself several times, “what was I thinking”🤣

While I’m busy learning all the emu tips, tricks, and survival skills, I’d like to officially introduce our newest residents:

A bonded blonde emu pair with big personalities, even bigger legs, and apparently very little concern for personal space. Please send all the emu advice our way!

Good thing he’s cute, because he was a very bad boy this weekend and of course he decided to do this when I was home alone but thankful my mama jumped in the ranger to assist!

I’m grateful for a gentle bull who will still let me halter him when he decides to wander away from home and pick a fight with someone he had absolutely no business messing with. Needless to say, he was more than happy to be walked back home once he got his butt kicked, I mean, once his adventure was over 🤫

Sometimes life on the farm is less “majestic Highland cattle” and more “go get your troublemaker.” 🤣

Patsy Cline & Lainey Wilson 🤎💛

Do you have a loner cow? Patsy is ours — always hanging back a little from the herd, last to the feed trough, usually pushed around when she finally gets there, just kind of our little Eeyore girl.

We’ve had her since she was 6 months old, within a week she went through a really traumatic battle with pinkeye before we ever had time to truly bond with her. She carries scars in both eyes and has always been wary of people and even the other cows. She isn’t flighty or quick to move, but always hanging back to assess the situation first.

So seeing Lainey Wilson loving on Patsy and Patsy actually letting her… it’s huge, it honestly makes me tear up a little and I’m so proud of her for trusting 🥹

4 years old
Currently running with a 38” HighPark NeDak bull and a 42” white Highland bull since December.
She is sweet out in the field and easy to walk up to, love on, and interact with anytime. She definitely has a little “small woman syndrome” personality, but she’s a fun girl with lots of character.
