🌾💜 WE HAVE SOMETHING VERY SPECIAL TO SHARE WITH OUR THIS OLD BARN FAMILY. 💜🌾
Over the past few months, something has been happening behind the scenes that we have been incredibly excited about.
Many of you know This Old Barn for our honor stand, our farm-fresh eggs, vegetables, beef, pork and our time at the Franklin Farmers Market.
Many of you also know the name Dollie’s Farm and the incredible memories, flowers, lavender and family experiences that have been part of our community for years.
But what you may not know yet is that the stories of these two farm families are beginning to come together.
And we couldn't be more excited about what that means for the future. 💜
There are moments in farming when you realize that God has been putting pieces together long before you could see the whole picture.
This is one of those moments.
Dollie’s wasn’t just a flower farm.
It was a place built around family, faith, farming and memories.
After years of opening their farm to thousands of families, creating beautiful memories and pouring their hearts into the flower farm, the Wilson family made the difficult decision to close the flower farm to the public.
It wasn't because the love for farming disappeared.
Quite the opposite.
It was about recognizing that life has seasons.
And sometimes, one chapter has to close before another one can begin.
🌾 THIS OLD BARN + DOLLIE'S FARM 💜
What started as two separate farm families is becoming something new.
A new chapter.
The Wilson family and the Fletcher family behind This Old Barn are coming together with a shared love for something bigger than any one crop, one farm or one business:
FAMILY. FARMING. COMMUNITY. AND GROWING THE FUTURE TOGETHER. 🌱💜
The vision isn't about replacing what Dollie's was.
It's about building on the history that is already there.
The lavender, the flowers, the memories and the legacy of Dollie's Farm will always be part of that story.
And now we're excited about what can grow next.
🌱 THE GREENHOUSES ARE COMING WITH US!
One of the most exciting parts of this new chapter is that the greenhouses from the original This Old Barn location are being moved to Dollie's Farm.
These aren't new greenhouses.
They're part of the This Old Barn story.
And now they're getting a new home.
By moving our greenhouses to Dollie's, we'll be able to grow our produce closer to the customers and community we serve.
That means we'll have the opportunity to expand what we're growing and make even more fresh, locally grown produce available throughout the seasons.
Inside those greenhouses, we're planning to grow:
🍅 Tomatoes
🥬 Lettuce
🥒 Zucchini
🧄 Garlic
🎃 Squash
🥕 Other seasonal vegetables
🌱 And whatever else we discover we can grow!
What was once part of the original home of This Old Barn will now become part of this new shared chapter at Dollie's.
And we think there's something pretty special about that.
We're not leaving our history behind.
We're moving it forward.
🐔 AND THE CHICKENS ARE COMING TOO!
The demand for our farm-fresh eggs has continued to grow, so we're adding even more chickens to help us keep up.
And somehow, that feels especially fitting.
Because chickens and farm-fresh eggs are already part of Dollie's story.
So as we move forward, we're carrying a little piece of that history with us — while continuing to build the egg business that has become such an important part of This Old Barn.
💜 TWO FAMILIES. TWO FARM STORIES. ONE NEW CHAPTER.
Dollie's Farm spent years teaching people that a farm can be more than a place where things are grown.
It can be a place where memories are grown.
Where children learn where food comes from.
Where families spend time together.
Where neighbors become friends.
Where hard work turns into something beautiful.
And that's exactly the kind of spirit we want to carry forward.
The Fletcher family and This Old Barn have our own story — our honor stand, our meat, our vegetables, our eggs, our farmers market customers and all of the people who have supported us along the way.
Now those stories are beginning to overlap.
🌾 The fields may look different.
🌱 The crops may change.
🐔 The flock may grow.
🍅 The greenhouses are getting a new home.
But the heart of it remains the same:
Family.
Faith.
Farming.
Community.
And the belief that something special can happen when people are willing to work together.
📣 AND THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING!
