Fyi, Poynor Septic Service customers and/or all Williamson County residents on septic tanks:
As of December 31st, City of Thompson Station, closed their waste water treatment facility to all pumpers. Robbie is now hauling residential household waste, an extra hour drive, to Maury County. Which is also only open from 5:30-5:30. We are grateful for them because they are the only county that accepts out of county dumping. The man that has been in charge for numerous years at their facility recently retired. We are praying that the person they hire for that position will continue to allow out of county dumping. If they don't, well, let's just hope they do. All commercial waste has to go to a privately owned facility in Springfield. It's quite a haul. This includes anyone with a commercial kitchen, Puckett's, Country Boy, Leiper's Fork Market, Henpeck Market, etc... If you are in Williamson County and not on sewer you will be feeling the pain. All the pumpers are trying their best. Without a local facility it is hard to keep up with the demand. Robbie is already booked for the rest of this week. He was able to pump 6-8 sometimes 10 tanks per day. Now he is limited to about 4. So, please note that the price for getting your septic tanks pumped has increased. Robbie has talked to the Williamson County Mayor, along with the county attorney's. Williamson County has no plans to build a waste water facility. Robbie went to the State of TN to get permits to build his own facility numerous times over the last 6 months. He started trying to prevent this catastrophe back in July. He was denied by Williamson County every single time. Please keep our family in your prayers and be patient with us as we go through this transition. We are not sure of the plans that God has for us at this time. When one door closes another door opens. We are anxious to see what the new plans are. Maybe I'll have a new bee keeper on the farm ;)

You’ve stepped on it, ignored it, and tried to eradicate it from your lawn. However, this innocuous little w**d is one of the most useful medicines on the planet, just begging to be harvested. There are two major types of… Continue Reading →

The short answer is "No". Eggs are laid with a natural coating on the shell that is applied as the last step in the laying process called the "bloom" or sometimes the "cuticle". This coating is the first line of defense in keeping air and bacteria out of the egg. Since eggshells are porous, if you w

Beehive technology has changed little in centuries, but an Australian father and son believe they have a better way, and it's getting a lot of people excited. Besides enabling many individuals to harvest their own honey, the idea may play a role in fighting the problems that plague bee populations.

Many consumers are shifting their sweetener choices to more natural ingredients that don’t skimp on taste and or add extra calories to their daily intake. Riding the wave to this trend, Firmenich has named honey the Flavor of the Year for 2015.
