Sea & Reef Aquaculture Aquaculture of marine ornamental fish
www.seaandreef.com Sea & Reef Aquaculture is located on the beautiful coast of Maine.

We specialize in culturing only the highest quality marine ornamental fish for the aquarium hobby. Through careful research and dedication our team of marine biologists brings you saltwater fish of optimum health and vivid color.

10 good reasons to buy captive bred fish from Sea & Reef Aquaculture:

1) Disease and parasite free
We have strict biosecurity in our facility and all our fish are gua

ranteed disease and parasite free.

2) Environmentally friendly
Purchasing captive raised livestock helps limit our hobby's impact on wild reefs. All our fish are cultured in saltwater recirculation systems.

3) Hardier
Our fish are already acclimated to life in a tank environment and therefore easily acclimate to your tank.

4) Less shipping stress
A short transit time ensures low stress during transport. In comparison most wild collected fish experience long transit time from the Pacific Ocean to the your tank.

5) People friendly
Captive Bred fish associate people with food, which means they come up to the glass to beg for food rather than hiding at the sight of people.

6) Eats everything
Our fish are conditioned to eat a variety of food including flakes, pellets and frozen food. They will eat almost anything you throw at them.

7) Less aggressive
Captive bred fish are generally much less aggressive than wild caught fish. For example, several captive raised false percula clownfish (Ocellaris) can peacefully coexist in the same tank.

8) Long life
When you buy a captive raised clownfish from Sea & reef Aquaculture it is only a few months old. You can therefore be assured that your clownfish can live for many years. Did you know that a clownfish in captivity can survive more than 30 years?

9) Support Research
Part of the proceeds from the sale of our fish helps support aquaculture research We are currently engaged in a research project to develop culture protocols for pelagic spawning reef fish like the flame angels (Centropyge loricula).

10) Made in the USA
All our fish are born in the USA. By supporting Sea & Reef Aquaculture you are supporting a company, which manufacturing and job creation is 100% US based

PSA: Regarding yesterday’s "Matcha Latte" Discovery... 🍵🐟
As much as the Sea & Reef Team loves the idea of a Longfin Matcha Latte Clownfish, it was—as many of you suspected—all in the spirit of April Fools' shenanigans!

Thank you all for the laughs, comments, and for playing along. To the enthusiasts who were already clearing space in their tanks: our deepest apologies! The good news is we still have 25 other extraordinary Longfin varieties that are very much real and available. Thank you for your support

A "Brew-tiful" Breakthrough at Sea & Reef! 🍵🐟

Please welcome the brand new Longfin Matcha Latte Clownfish!

This marks the 26th Longfin variety in our lineup and, as far as we know, the first-ever Green Clownfish in the industry. This extraordinary strain was discovered after a fortunate mishap in the hatchery, when a large mug of ceremonial-grade Matcha Green Tea was accidentally spilled into a larval rearing tank containing Longfin Storm Clownfish.

According to our Larval Rearing Manager, the tank remained a murky forest green for 36 hours. When the water finally cleared, the vibrant Matcha Latte Clownfish had emerged!

These unique specimens will begin shipping to a retail store near you starting today, April 1st, 2026. Contact your local fish store to reserve yours before they’re gone!

Poetry in motion! We have quietly expanded our line of Longfin Clownfish and now offer the widest selection of Longfish Clownfish. Fun fact: Fins of Longfin Clownfish are only slightly larger than a normal clownfish when they are small, but as they grow and mature their fins keep growing. The flowing motion of a mature Longfin Clownfish can be mesmerizing.
Post your pictures and videos of your mature Sea & Reef clownfish in the comments. Learn more about our Longfin Clownfish on our website.

Meet our next generation Longfin Clownfish variety. We named this first one Anemone Mohawk Ocellaris, or AMO for short. What is not “Te AMO” about it? The dorsal fin of this neat new Sea & Reef signature designer clownfish has mutated into te****le looking filaments, making it even easier for it to hide in the “uh-neh-muh- neh-muh-nee”.
