We have a bunch of ground beef from a waygu steer in 1/lb packages for sale if anyone wants any. $5/lb. Pickup at our farm in Franklin or we may be able to work out a time to meet you somewhere.

I have decided that its time to start transferring my knowledge of bermuda hay and grasses suitable for pastures, not just to my kids but also to others in the area. Im going do a field day some time this summer where everyone can come out and ill explain what we do to produce quality hay. If anyone has contacts with local 4H or FFA leaders in the area have them contact me if they are interested in having their students come and learn. Any young farmer in the area that whats to learn is welcome. Just message me and ill let you know when we will do it.

Now that im starting to be able to get around some after my surgery just wanted to let everyone know that we still have some round bales and square bales for sale. I cant really help with loading the squares just yet but on the weekends ill have the kids around and they are a big help.

Ok so i have determined FB dont want me to upload my farm update video so ill just type it out.

Everyone knows about the Luekima by now. Luckily Katie and I sold most of the cows/calves before we got the diagnosis. We still have 1 bull, more on that in a second. Hay season from what I was told started off extremely wet and then dried right up. So hay season was terrible and hard to manage. I was around for some here and there but nothing to much. We sold the rest of our cows/calves this fall around the last round of treatment. I bushhogged most everything i could then got started drilling seed until i couldnt. That got put on hold by the lung infection. Im going be ordering chemicals and netwrap at the beginning of 2026. I have a baler to put belts on, a tractor that a mechanic is going to replace the clutch in, and need to get the trackhoe going and need to have our cutover burned off as soon as i can now.

Now onto the plans for next year. I am actively looking for bred heifers, open heifers or 400-600 weight steers. All black or black baldy. Id rather buy off the farm than 1s thats been run through the salebarn because they tend to be sick when they come out. But if need be ill go the salebarn route just really dont need to sit in the sale barn or end up with sick animals.

Hay season probably wont involve squares until the last cutting due to the lung infection but we will see how that goes.

We want to take a minute and tell everyone we appreciate all the thoughts and prayers this year while Josh went through treatment for his Luekima. We have a bone morrow biopsy planned for this week and could use the extra prayers that it is in remission and stays that way for a very long time. Currently Josh is fighting a fungal infection in his lungs which is causing issues but hopefully the medicine will clear it up soon. Thank each and every one of yall again for the prayers.

Just to keep everyone as up to date as possible. Josh has successfully completed all 4 rounds of his chemo treatments. He has had a setback and is currently in the hospital with fevers of unknown origin. Having a lung biopsy today to help determine if the spots in his lungs are pneumonia and if so what bacteria or fungi that it is so we can get the proper treatment and get him back home. We appreciate all the prayers and your patience with all the changes that have been necessary this year

We want to thank everyone sincerely for all the thoughts, prayers, texts, calls and visits everyone has given Josh while going through this trying time. We ask that you please continue to pray as we head into the consolidation rounds of chemo. With Gods help hopefully we will be back up to normal or somewhat normal next year.
