In April, FFH was invited to participate in MANNA FoodBank (Asheville, NC) Essential Foods Program that allocates funds to food hubs to purchase more fresh produce from local farms for charitable distribution to MANNA Food Bank Partners.

To date, the program has allowed us to invest more than $30,000 in local farms and expand our reach to eight new food distribution partners.

Thanks to MANNA you can find FFH at the monthly distribution at Macon County Fairgrounds coordinated by Macon Program for Progress🙌

This month’s distribution served more than 200 households! It’s a proud moment to see community members come together to help unload trucks, sort and pack boxes, and distribute to neighbors in the car line. A special shoutout to the local Rotarians, nonprofit, and church partner volunteers who help to make a big impact at these community markets.

BIG thank you to our farmers for providing the freshest:

Thank you to everyone who came out for the Wild Mushroom Foray at our Community Farm🍄

What a wonderfully vibrant group of people coming together to bond over nature, food, farming, and, of course, fungi!

We saw an incredible diversity of mushroom families from gilled to polypore to coral and more. Do you recognize any of the species pictured here?!

(Note: not all of these species are edible!)

All three free fridges in Franklin have been restocked with local produce☀️

Note that the fridge and freezer on Harrison Ave. is currently out of order. Please be patient as we wait for our technician to come out to service it. We ask that you please do not donate any perishable goods to this particular fridge/freezer until the temperature is back to normal. We are loving all the donations and appreciate it greatly!

In the meantime, this kiosk is still stocked with freshly-picked unrefrigerated veggies that will hold up well over the next couple of days. We hope that you enjoy!
