Happy birthday to the newest member of our herd, Josie! She was born today on my mother’s 94th birthday, and of course we had to name her after one of our favorite ladies ❤️🥳
My mother, Josie, is part of the 3rd generation of the 6 generations at CWS. We are so thankful for her! Happy birthday mom, and happy birthday little Josie!

August 5th market report

Best market I’ve ever seen!!
Bred cows up to $4700 with 10 individuals bringing $4k plus
Slaughter cattle sure $5 higher
Most all calf’s $10-15 higher
Heifer calf’s that are blk with a lil ear weighing 450-650 are bringing as much or more than their steer mates!!!!

With this high market the health on the calf’s is more important than ever.. be careful how you treat your calf’s, don’t get them too hot. Handle them easy, get them to the auction as close to sale day as possible.. don’t pen early and leave in your lot multiple days. Only wean if you’re going to wean properly and keep them atleast 60 days.. get them live vaccines in your calf’s even if not weaning!! Take advantage of this market but help the man buying them get a better product!! We are getting to the time of year when higher risked calf’s are going to be discounted!! So do it right and help us market your cattle!!
Don’t forget about our 3% calf & yearling commission!!! Big savings!!!
