I’m happy to report that the workout lapse has been broken. I’ve recommitted to intentionally moving my body—just differently.

I realized my 300-mile walking goal started to feel rigid and out of alignment with my values. While I had very real reasons that disrupted my routine, I was stuck on walking instead of honoring what my body actually needed during a stressful season.

With a little encouragement from Bellatrix, I did a simple 10-minute workout and stretch. And honestly? It was exactly what I needed. Gentle. Supportive. Aligned with where I am in this pregnancy.

I’ve been experiencing more lower abdominal and pelvic pressure—much earlier than in my previous pregnancies. Today marks 17 weeks, with 23 to go. So moving in ways that truly care for my body—not punish it—is what matters most right now.

Flexibility. Compassion. Intention. 💛

Peace Community!

I’m still getting my miles in. I’m a little behind, but I’m 29 miles into my 300-mile goal, and I’m giving myself grace. This past week was tough—back-to-back snowstorms, frigid temps, and long days indoors.

Being inside for extended stretches can really weigh on the spirit. I ate more, moved less, and felt that familiar guilt creep in. Then, to top it off, I sat the wrong way and hurt my knee, making it hard to walk for a bit. Whew.

In the midst of it all, we entered the second trimester! I’m 13 weeks pregnant and and I are heading to our monthly checkup today—something to truly celebrate.

If you or someone you love struggles with the highs and lows of winter—or wonders if it might be something more—I invite you to join a workshop I’m co-leading with my practice . We’ll explore these experiences together in a supportive space. To RSVP, scan the QR code or email [email protected].

One step, one mile, one season at a time. 💛

Happy Monday, community!

Most of the country was in the path of the winter storm, including us, and we’re grateful we weren’t impacted too badly. Power and heat are still going strong.

I’m keeping up with my walking, and sometimes the kiddos join in on the action. It’s all fun and exciting for them, and I hope they stay inspired to find creative, intentional ways to move their bodies.

We’re 12 weeks pregnant today and already over 22 miles into our 300-mile walking goal—aiming to finish by (or before) I hit 40 weeks around August 10th.

If you’re walking with me, let me know!

Y’all, I’ve been having so much fun working toward my goal of walking 300 miles through the rest of my pregnancy.

This week I’ve been walking (indoors and outdoors), dancing, and even jogging to get my two miles in. I learned that 30 minutes of moderate movement counts as about two miles—mind blown! 😂

I’m over 12 miles in already, feeling strong, energized, and proud of myself. One step (and groove) at a time.

Peace, Community!

I just finished my 2-mile walk this morning, and there’s something so grounding about getting my movement in before the kiddos wake up. Yesterday I had to split my walk into two parts because the kids had plans of their own—which was totally fine—and I still got it done.

Today, Bellatrix joined me at the end and gave me the biggest huggle (huge hug + cuddle) and a kiss. Pure sweetness. 💛

I’ve set a goal to walk 300 miles by August 10th during this pregnancy, and I’m already over 7 miles in. One step, one breath, one day at a time.

Boundaries! That's the message for today!

I'm so proud of myself for embracing practices that nourish my body, mind, and spirit. I've been actively seeking ways to cut back and protect my time, allowing me to focus on what truly matters.

I'm learning that I also need to set more boundaries with myself. While it's often easy to establish boundaries with others, I find it challenging when it comes to my own self-discipline. I tend to create excuses for why I can't commit to certain changes. Upon reflection, I've realized that this hesitation often stems from the discomfort of the change process.

Now, I’m learning to navigate that discomfort with grace and self-compassion, because the reward is worth it—I’m worth it!

What boundaries are you setting for yourself to create more space for what truly matters?

Farmer Twon headed back to the USA after spending the last seven days there exploring neighborhoods, schools, and hospitals.

This step was essential as we settle in, build connections, and scout land. For our first Ghana move, we’re likely to base in Accra or nearby. This recent visit brought more clarity and direction for where we want to. I believe one more visit is needed before we make any definite decisions.

Please support this journey as we move, settle, and develop a farm in Ghana. Visit sunrisingfarms.com to review our business plan, sign up for our newsletter and donate today.
