Crop Update 8/30/17-
WISCONSIN

The cabbage and green bean harvesting have been curtailed greatly by the dry weather in the area. We've had less than one inch of rain here in the last three weeks. The quality remains excellent on both items but there are short supplies.

Sweet corn production has begun in Wisconsin and the crop is yielding well with outstanding quality in all three colors, BiColor, Yellow and White super sweet corn. We will have peak production available for the Labor Day holiday.

Green peppers have begun to be harvested along with Jalapenos with very good quality and below average pricing on both items.

The leafy greens harvest is finally in full bloom with heavy volume coming off the fields right now with great quality and very good pricing.

The leafy greens are some of our last items being planted and we will continue to plant in Wisconsin until right after Labor Day.

Overall the crops are doing well considering the rough and tumble weather cycles that we have gone through all summer.

Sweet corn production in Wisconsin will begin around the 10th of August, and the crop is in great shape with very good yields anticipated.

Crop Update 8/2/17-
ILLINOIS
Sweet corn production is high, as this sweet corn crop is one of the best that we have ever grown. Harvest will end this week as we move into Wisconsin corn.

WISCONSIN
Cabbage planting will end on August 11, with greens going until the 18th. Weather
conditions have turned for the better as we have been seasonally warm and on the dry side, almost time to start irrigating!

Leafy Greens, cabbage and green bean harvesting has been curtailed greatly by the heavy rains the area sustained on July 10th through the 12th with almost 12" of rain during these few days. The effects of that much water hurt yields for the whole month of August, but the quality of what survived is excellent.

Sweet corn production will begin around the 10th of August, and the crop is in great shape with very good yields anticipated.

Green peppers harvest will begin around the 10th of August as well. Quality looks very good, but crop size seems to be on the smaller side for the first crown pickings. The second and third picking should produce much heavier yield.

Leafy Greens harvest has been ongoing with excellent early season quality. Cabbage harvest will begin in one week and crops look in very good condition.

Crop Update 7/7/17-
ILLINOIS
The weather in Illinois continues to be very favorable with excellent quality cabbage and beans being harvested daily. Markets continue to stay active and strong.

Super Sweet corn looks very good in terms of shape and yields, harvest should begin around the 12th of July on both BiColor and Yellow corn.
WISCONSIN
Planting has been held back due to the scattered showers that hit the region for almost three weeks now but with a week of sunshine we should get caught up and back on schedule and will continue through mid-August.

Leafy Greens harvest has been ongoing with excellent early season crop quality and supplies. Cabbage harvest will begin in one week and crops look in very good condition.

Labor continues to be a problem and has curtailed harvesting in both spots, limiting the production on cabbage and greens but it should improve by mid July as more crews begin to start the summer season.

In Illinois- excellent looking cabbage, corn and beans. In Wisconsin, Greens harvesting should begin shortly with cabbage to follow.

Crop Update 6/15/17-
GEORGIA
Sweet corn production continues, but supplies are on the short side due to extreme heat that is holding back yields.

ILLINOIS
Crops are in good shape with excellent looking cabbage, corn and beans. So far the weather has been optimal and we should begin harvesting the last week of June.
WISCONSIN
Planting has been in full swing, but the weather has curtailed some of the crops due to unseasonal heat and high winds. Greens crops have been affected the most at this point. We did have a nice rain on the 14th of June and temperatures have backed off so the crops should be in better shape going forward.

Greens harvesting should begin the week of the 19th with cabbage to follow the 10th of July.

In Georgia Greens are winding down quickly, Cabbage production is peaking, and Sweet corn production will begin on Saturday, May 20th.

Crop Update 5/17/17-
GEORGIA
Due to very high temperatures the last two weeks, Greens are winding down quickly. Cabbage production is peaking, the quality has been very good and harvesting should continue for at least two more weeks. Sweet corn production will begin on Saturday, May 20th, quality looks excellent.

ILLINOIS
Our farm dodged major storms during the last three weeks and crops have recovered from the cold start. Harvesting is still on schedule to begin around the 15th of June.
WISCONSIN
Planting has finally begun in earnest during the week of the May 8th and all the crews are busy trying to get caught up from the late start due to heavy rains and very cold temperatures in southeast Wisconsin. Above average temperatures and ½ inch of rain a week should help with our goal of starting Greens harvest around the 15th of June and cabbage two weeks after that.

In Georgia Greens are winding down quickly, Cabbage production is peaking, and Sweet corn production will begin on Saturday, May 20th.

Crop Update 3/28/17–
TEXAS

Extreme temperatures and heavy winds are causing greens production to dwindle down in the Texas valley. The heat is also causing cabbage growth to slow down.
GEORGIA
Crop quality looks great!

Warmer than normal temperatures are bringing on the Georgia greens crops with excellent quality, which will allow for very good Easter shipments.

Cabbage is about 10 days away from early harvesting.

A non-typical freeze last week affected the first sweet corn plantings.
ILLINOIS
Seasonal weather and a typical start time in central Illinois. Land preparation has begun and cabbage planting should start early next week followed by green beans and super sweet corn.
