Last Farmstand of the Season — But We're Still Going Strong!

This Saturday is our final Farmstand of the season, and we’d love to see you one more time!

But don’t hang up your shopping baskets just yet… we’re still going strong at Stone Pillar Farm!
👉 Our freezers are packed with meat (and we’ll have new grass-fed beef coming in November)
🥚 Eggs and microgreens are available year-round
🥕 Fresh produce continues through November

We also have exciting news — our daughter Anna’s rabbit business is thriving! She has 10 pasture-raised rabbits processed and ready for purchase, raised right here on the farm. They’re a bit bigger than the last batch (I had to pause processing while a hand injury healed), but still tender and delicious. One customer even told us rabbit has become her new favorite protein! 🐇

🌱 Weekend Harvest at Stone Pillar Farm! 🌱

Our tricolor bush beans are in! They’re a gorgeous mix of green, yellow, and purple beans… though our family still calls them “purple and yellow green beans.” Whatever you call them, they’re crisp, sweet, and ready for your table.

Here’s what else is fresh from the farm this weekend:
🥕 Beets, carrots, lettuce, turnips, radish
🍅 Last call for slicing and cherry tomatoes (you can even freeze the cherry ones and roast later for an amazing burrata topping)

Fresh From the Garden + Happy Cows!
Our pasture is finally green again after the summer drought—and our new South Poll calves are loving it. (They’re growing fast and keeping their moms busy!)

This Saturday we’ll have a big spread of fresh food for you:
🍅 Tomatoes – plenty of slicers and sweet cherry tomatoes now that the plants have bounced back
🌶️ Peppers – snacking peppers are back in abundance, plus bell peppers and a nice mix of spicy varieties
🥗 Greens & Roots – arugula, lettuce, radish, turnips with greens, and beets with greens
🎃 Squash – delicata and butternut
🌱 Microgreens – crunchy mix, radish, pea, and broccoli

🚜 Big Chicken News from Stone Pillar Farm! 🐔

✨ New Product: Our very first pasture-raised Chicken Sausage and Ground Chicken are here! We took a special batch of birds to a USDA processor so we could offer clean, wholesome sausage and ground meat made with all organic ingredients—no fillers, nitrates, nitrites, MSG, or preservatives.

🥩 Fresh Chicken Is Back: We processed chickens on Wednesday, so fresh, never frozen whole chickens are available through Saturday. Our chicken will be just 3 days old on Saturday—compare that to grocery store chicken, which is typically 7–10 days old and can sit on shelves for up to 14 days.

❄️ Bulk Whole Chicken Sale: Our freezers are packed, so we’re running another bulk sale on whole chickens. This is the best time to stock your freezer for the winter months ahead. A small chest freezer lets you buy in bulk, save money, and keep a reliable supply of healthy meat on hand.

Stone Pillar Farmstand will be open Saturday 9am–12pm with a special treat—fresh, no-spray apples. These apples may look a little imperfect, but they’re perfectly healthy and delicious.

Who’s where: Abby will be running the farmstand while Mike heads to the Derwood Farmers Market. We’re planning to rotate every couple of weeks so you’ll see both of us at each spot over time.

Fresh chicken is back! 🐓

We processed birds this week and have fresh, never frozen chicken (whole and parts) available now through Saturday—after that it all goes to the freezer. Last time you loved it, so we brought it back again!

Thanks to cooler weather, we also have arugula and a full lineup of microgreens (crunchy mix, sunflower, pea, broccoli, and radish). Plus, we just harvested red viking potatoes to go with our fingerlings.

🐓 Farmstand This Saturday — 9am to 12pm at the farm 🥕

Big news — all chicken parts are finally back in stock including breasts and tenders! And thanks to a couple of freezers giving up on processing day, we'll have fresh, never frozen chicken this week. It’s a happy accident, and a good experiment to see if folks enjoy the convenience of fresh chicken right after processing.

We’ll also still have frozen inventory available for anyone who prefers that.

Big week at the farm! Our 10-year-old daughter Anna just brought her very first batch of pasture-raised rabbits to market. 🐇✨

She’s taken the rabbit business on as her own — raising, caring for, and now processing her first batch. All rabbit sales go directly to Anna as she takes full responsibility for feed, care, and future batches. She’s learning a ton about animal husbandry, business, and what it means to participate in the full cycle of raising your own food.

We're incredibly proud of her courage, especially in taking part in the processing of her animals.

We have our own beef!! 🐄🎉

This Saturday is a big one—we’re bringing home our very first steer from the processor, and we’ll have our own grass-fed, grass-finished beef available at the farmstand!

This is a milestone we’ve been working toward for a long time. We’re just getting started with beef cattle, so please be patient with us—supplies will be limited as it takes quite a while to raise a steer to finishing weight. But we’re so proud to offer this to you!

Cuts will be available this Saturday from 9 to noon, and we’ll get everything listed online next week.
