One of my biggest and most beautiful yields of mushrooms yet. These are black Pearl oyster varieties. I’m still struggling with getting the proper amount of fresh air, which is why the caps are curled up on most of them. They are still absolutely delicious though. The ones with my hand for size reference are perfect and are how they should look. That one alone weights 1.25 pounds!! Four pounds is the total weight

Luv that the garden is in full swing with lots of peppers and tomatoes coming in very nicely, the corn is taller than me too. I always take the chance to do my gardening barefoot so I get my grounding or earthing in. Together with being in the garden it helps take the edge of the day and clam and relax me from the day. Take advantage of it when you can it does make a difference!!

With the girls being very active in both it’s time to add the Honey Supers and the Queen excluder to the hives. The Queen excluder prevents the Queen from going into any box above it by being too small for her to fit through the slots in it. This prevents her from laying eggs there so that all of the room is used for food storag for the year, next year it will be honey!!!

It was an early hot weather kinda week. This causes the bees to move a bunch of them outside of the hive in order to keep the hive temperature and humidity at the correct levels. Everything that goes on in the hive from curing the honey to raising the larva are all sensitive to temp and humidity so they need to get body’s out to prevent it from overheating. This is called bearding and is just one more reason they are quite amazing lil creatures.
