Long weekends call for an intentional change of pace. Step out of the holiday crowds and into the Lounge for a full weekend of cold drinks, good food, and local art:

—First Saturday Sip & Shop: Grab a glass of estate-grown Maryland w**e, browse artwork from Kayla Cooper from Bright Pop Shop Art, and pair your afternoon with our chilled w**e spritzes and artisanal charcuterie.
—Name That Tune: Join us Sunday with a team or on your own as you identify songs spanning decades and genres, and compete for prizes. Music starts at 3 PM!
—Labor Day Happy Hour: Half off glasses from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM.

Grab a seat and join Simple Theory on October 1st for our first w**e dinner away from the Lounge — at JoJo’s. Their back room becomes the setting for an exclusive five-course dinner, each course paired with a Simple Theory w**e to elevate every bite. Think crispy prosciutto and aged cheddar to start, jumbo grilled sea scallops with spicy bacon jam, and shrimp scampi with crostini — followed by your choice of chicken francese, Old Bay blackened salmon, or truffle butter steak. End the evening with a quintessential Baltimore egg custard snowball. We’ll be there all night to guide each bite and pour, bringing the best of the Lounge across the street. Back room opens at 5pm, dinner runs 6–8pm. $60pp.

— 09|23: Baltimore-based guitarist, Ahmed Warshanna, will fill the Lounge with inspiration of impressionistic soundscapes, rooted jazz traditions inviting you to listen, imagine, and feel.

We’re firm believers that what grows together, goes together - especially when it comes to local w**e and good company. Every fourth Thursday, we shine a light on local flavor through thoughtful pairings and community collaboration.

Hippy Chick doesn’t just have hummus! This month, we’re showcasing the made-from-scratch food behind this beloved local café. Their philosophy is simple: real food, prepared in-house with ingredients you can feel good about—from their famous fresh-made hummus to their dressings, soups, proteins, cheeses, and more.

Local sourcing is part of their café recipe, too, with produce from Pleasant Hill Produce Farm in Walkersville, and a shared commitment to working with other local makers like The Kombucha Lady—reflecting a mutual focus on sourcing close to home for what we don’t grow ourselves.

For this Locavore Night on September 24th at 6:30pm, we’ll pair a selection of Hippy Chick’s fresh, thoughtfully prepared bites with our estate-grown Maryland w**es. Bring your appetite and curiosity—we’ll take care of the w**e, food, and the local stories behind both.

Once a year, we welcome our friends to our vineyard - to gather, to learn, to taste, to explore. On October 4th, join us as we welcome the fall season in the vineyard at Between the Rows: An Afternoon Passeggiata – a leisurely Italian tradition of strolling, socializing, and enjoying good food and drink. Sip on a special welcome pour as you stroll through the vineyard, and join Parker Aellen for a behind-the-scenes vineyard riding in the comfort of our Cru Cart tour to discover what’s happening in year two. Visit with our w**emakers, Melissa Aellen and Ray Mitcham, for a 2026 vintage preview, and sample unreleased w**es directly from tank & barrel. We’ll embrace the Italian atmosphere with a live musician, assorted grazing tables, and fresh wood-fired pizza made on-site. A full w**e bar will be available for additional purchase of glasses or bottles to enjoy as you relax and embrace this season of change at Simple Theory Vineyard.

Some projects take time, care, and many hands to get right. After months of bottle fermentation and aging, it’s time to disgorge our next sparkling w**e: the 2025 Blanc de Franc.

From removing the frozen yeast plug to corking and caging, every bottle passes through careful hands before it’s sealed and set aside — waiting, until it’s ready to pour this winter.

Quick vineyard update from Parker with harvest right around the corner: “Here we are looking at our Cabernet Sauvignon grape clusters going through veraison, the process when grapes start to change color and ultimately get closer to ripening. With only a few clusters per plant we are very optimistic in the quality of w**e we can produce as long as the weather cooperates with us.”
