As the furlough is lifting, the need for this community meal is coming to an end. This will be our last "Fed Through Furlough" dinner, but please stay tuned for Thanksgiving related meals. 🦃
A huge thank you goes to Billikens Smokehouse, Happy Endings Bar & Grill, and The Marriott Hotel for the use of their facilities and their food donations. (A thank you also to an anonymous donor, this week.) 🙏

Good morning, Taste of Fredericksburg!!!

Thank you all you attended, competed, and judged our second cake war.

All the cakes were incredible!!! While individuals had their favorites, the final scores were much narrower than expected from first place to 7th place... only a 3.86 point spread separated them which is amazing! Again, fantastic job by all the bakers from the cakes themselves to the decor to pull their them together on their tables.

On to our winners!!!

3rd place went to
One Lady And A Mixer, LLC. In addition to her trophy, she received a gift basket with some of Always Flavored most popular sauces and seasoning.

2nd place went to Sweet Remedies won a $100 gift certificate to Alpine Chef Restaurant.

BriBakes not only won 1st place overall, but she was also the People's Choice winner as well! With the first-place trophy, she will be receiving one bag a month for a year, a bag of her choice in coffee from our friends at 2 Hens Coffee Roasters.

ToF Cake War 2025 is just over 2.5 hours away and look forward to seeing everyone!
Shawarma Rama will be serving up some delicious eats should you need a bit to eat after dessert.
Burg Charcuterie unfortunately won't be able to make it due to unforeseen circumstances. We hope to work with them at another event.

ToF fam. Apologizes to anyone who had issues accessing our Eventbrite page. Eventbrite was affected by the AWS outage but appears to have resolved it sometime yesterday.

We still have tickets available and are excited to be holding this event at Eden Try Winery again. Order your tickets to sample some of our local bakers and valued ToF family members creative works of edible art.

Not a cake person? No problem! Come on out, enjoy some wine, and grab a bite to eat from Shawarmarama or Burg Charcuterie.

Our 2nd Annual Cake War is getting near! Soon our contestants will be heating up their ovens, mixing and baking their batter, and all the things to show off their skill and creativity. Eden Try Winery is excited to serve their very own wines. Shawarmarama and Burg Charcuterie anxiously wait to serve up their delicious bites. The trophies are ready to be put on display in their new homes, but we need your help to crown this year's winner.

Tickets for the tasting ballots are only available on Eventbrite so get yours before it's too late... we sold out last year before the doors opened.

We'd also like to take the time to recognize local businesses who helped sponsor our event with prizes and other support:

2 Hens Coffee Roasters - our favorite for locally roasted coffee. Coffee connoisseurs and new coffee drinkers alike can find a blend and roast perfect to their tastes. We of course recommend trying our collaborative blend, "Taste of Fredericksburg".

Alpine Chef Restaurant - classic German cuisine along with some creative, modern twists. Chef Jannec and his team strive to consistently deliver delicious food while still creating unique specials for both daily offerings and events.,

Always Flavored - the best locally made hot sauces and seasoning in the "'Burg". Stop by their shop to stock up and if you have a few minutes, enjoy one of their fantastic sandwiches.

HCK Hot Chicken at Cosner Corners - fantastic chicken sandwiches with a variety of hot sauce options to find your perfect heat level. They use large cuts of chicken on their sandwiches, and the sides are just as good.

Bello Manzo - serving various Italian style sandwiches, pastas, and entrees in a very relaxed and inviting place. It's great place to grab a glass of wine or something at the bar to unwind with and the food is delicious!

Good Afternoon ToF Fam!

This year's benefit cake auction will go to an organization that supports a cause near and dear to me personally as a USMC veteran. Proceeds from the cake auction will go towards supporting Simply Angels.

Simply Angels is their to support veterans not just in their time of need or when things may be at their worst, they are their to support with milestones reached and celebrations.

Help us support this wonderful organization by bidding on your favorite display cakes at this year's cake war or make a personal contribution directly to them. 100% of the auction proceeds will go to Simply Angels.
