Helpful Hints: 🤔 The best way to maintain the acidity and freshness of our Grüner Veltliner wines is to serve them at a temperature between 45 and 49 degrees. It is best to drink them in a stemmed glass with a tulip-shaped bowl that helps capture and distribute the wines’ floral and fruity aromas.

Want a great white wine for a hot summer day? This Austrian wine is perfect!
The 2019 Weinviertel DAC Grüner Veltliner has a pale to green-yellow color and is great on a sunny Sunday. It has guava notes on the nose with a lively palate and a little spritz. There is subtle pepperiness along with lemon, green pear and a smooth fresh finish with a robust acidity. The wine is a great all around food pairing, especially with dishes like meats, seafood and many Asian dishes. Who wants a glass?

Where in the World?: 🌎 Zull wines are made in the Weinviertel area of Lower Austria. This region is the largest wine growing area in Austria and has a cool but dry climate. It’s great for the 2019 Weinviertel DAC Grüner Veltliner and 2016 Grüner Veltliner Landwein because it helps them retain their acidity and freshness.

From Central Europe to CAS! 🍷 The 2016 Zull Grüner Veltliner Landwein is made from Grüner Veltliner grapes which make wines that are perfumed, dry, full bodied, citrus fruit flavored and have high acidity. The name Grüner Veltliner (“grooh-ner VELT-leehn-er”) can be difficult to pronounce, so people usually call it Grüner.

Ladies and Gentlemen, our Producer of the Month is… Zull Winery! 🍷

They are located in the small town of Schrattenthal, Austria and are family owned and operated. The father, Werner Zull, believed in establishing a business defined by the quality and concentration of the grapes. Their Rieslings are grown on mineral rock with warming granite below giving the wine its delicate structure.

✏️ Wine History Tidbit: Zull wines are made in the Lower Austria Region. This is considered the oldest wine-making region in Central Europe, dating back to the Bronze Age! Your wine might have been grown in the same soil that was used to grow grapes during the Bronze Age! What a cool terroir!
