Oh YaYa……where have you been?!?!?!

Well, I’ve been here but resting and thinking…..
But today I did quite a bit! Hubs vacuum the floors and I cleaned the kitchen counters…(they really needed it 😣). After all that I baked a quadruple batch of almond flour chocolate chip cookies! Needed to use up some chips that I had for a little while plus testing out recipe quantities for a future venture. (You can stay tuned!)

Besides the cookies I had a pot of deer bone soup on the stove which I was able to put two containers in the freezer for other soups to make later. Sorry for not having pictures of it….

Anyway, stay tuned for more info and cooking!

Made a cherry pudding cake today with my mom! This was a cake that my sister Kim Chambers made for a 4-H contest way back in the day. I remember that it was made over and over and over…. I was very sick of it….

But as time goes on you remember the cake and I wanted the recipe so I could make it for the hubs and my mom. So she brought me the recipe and we made it this morning and I’m so glad it happened! Mom said it was just fabulous and why did this recipe get forgotten for so long…..now it’s back!!!!! And yes, the next time I make it there’s gonna be some changes (imagine that 😉) but I’m sure it’ll be just fine!

Made salted caramel toffee bit biscotti this evening and it turned out really great 👍! I’ve been wanting to make some since eating Trader Joe’s salted caramel biscotti last July in Grand Rapids….
Let’s just say that these are just so darn delicious 😋. Definitely going to make some again!

Yaya! You cooked today!!!!!

Yes, I did for my Hughes family! They will eat quite well again 😘.

Mediterranean pork tenderloin and veggies, beef enchilada stack, chicken tortellini casserole which all three are delicious and they ask for these on regular basis!

Oh! I baked a banana nut cake for hubs and myself….🤪

Granola bars based off of recipe Banana Split Quinoa Oat Bars. Didn’t do the chocolate chips. Not a fan. It made enough for at least two weeks of work breakfast! I will vac pack two packs of four bars and freeze them for pulling out to eat. I’m excited 😜

Hey there 👋 I’m late posting pics of my cooking from last Sunday for my Hughes family but here they are. I’ll put captions under each picture for you to read it is.

It’s been a really long week for me, working six days a week for the past two weeks at Der Kuchen Laden. Today is my day to rest and reset for next week. I’m working Monday through Thursday and then I’ll be off until the following Friday. It’s a much needed break and hopefully I’ll get things done at the house that’s been put on the back burner. Mom’s gonna be here during some of the time and I’m so looking forward to the special time with her!

Hubs went to Walmart and got us a four foot tree and had it blinking before I got up this morning…..he decorated it all by himself…..such a great job 👏. I don’t like decorating the tree but I like decorating the rest of the house. I could spend a ton of money on Christmas house decorations….that’s my digs….for the holidays! I do it for myself and for my hubs….

Well, this was the result of my Christmas Day……cleaning things up that have been calling me to do…..very pleased with what I’ve got done….tomorrow is another day…..and I’m off for the next three days!!!! Saturday is my cook day for Larry Duecker kids to come over for Christmas celebration here!

Oh YaYa……did you get to rest today?

Well folks, no I didn’t….my Hughes family wanted me to cook, so I did…….,

Minestrone soup, meat sauce for lasagna and ravioli bake, chicken artichoke orzo bake. It was a process but I’m done now…..😞

Bridge breakfast is tamale casserole with scrambled eggs made in the morning. Supper tonight is “shut up and eat it “. YaYa is tired from working at Der Kuchen Laden……

What!!!! Another pound cake?!?!?!

Yes!!!! I’m so in love with my Ankarsrum mixer! It makes getting a good pound cake in the oven in less than 20 minutes! The hardest part is getting the eggs, butter, and cream cheese at room temp…but there’s tricks to getting it there!

No, there’s no icing on this baby…..nor snow….
