The Standing Cypress Are Entering Our Favorite Stage
While the bright red blooms may be beginning to fade, this is actually one of the most exciting times of year for us at Wildseed Farms.
Our Standing Cypress field is moving into seed production mode, and we're likely only about 10 days away from harvest.
As the flowers finish blooming, they begin forming seed pods. Over time, those pods dry and split open, releasing hundreds of tiny white seeds to the ground below—the next generation of Standing Cypress.
It's not the showiest stage of the plant's life cycle, but it's the reason we're here. Every bag of seed starts with moments like this.
Watching a field transition from fiery red blooms to a crop full of mature seed is a reminder that wildflowers are more than just beautiful—they're part of a remarkable cycle that begins and ends right here on the farm.
Harvest season is almost here, and we're excited to see what kind of yield Mother Nature has in store for us. 💛
