Pontotoc Vineyard began when Carl and Frances Money purchased the historic German Estate in 2003, restoring the old sandstone farmhouse and clearing the fields to fulfill a dream of bringing exceptional wine to central Texas. Established in the heart of a town with a rich history of perseverance, nearly five acres of Tempranillo vines were planted as the foundation for the vineyard. The entire Mon

ey family has been as integral to the business as the Texas-grown, hand-picked grapes themselves. Carl, a lawyer, was introduced to viticulture after studying in Europe, and Frances, a pastry chef, has contributed her exceptional palate in developing pastry and wine pairings. All wines are crafted by Don Pullum, an honorary member of the Money family, and every year members of the Money family visit Fredericksburg to contribute to the annual harvest. Visitors can experience Pontotoc wines via tours and tastings. They can also join Pontotoc’s wine club and book private events and functions. The Money family is committed to providing the unique wine experience that central Texas deserves.

Pontotoc Vineyard is excited to share that we are opening Dot’s Bakery and Scout Spirits and moving our Weingarten to be lodged with our new ventures at 314 East Austin Street in historic Fredericksburg, Texas. The Weingarten, Bakery, and Distillery are enclosed in a stonewalled courtyard and housed in a 1920s Craftsman Cottage with a brick Weinkeller and limestone Destillerie. Similar to the Heurigen of Vienna, Austria, the venue provides a family atmosphere in an intimate environment for sharing our homemade pastries and picnic baskets along with our 100% Texas Hill Country wines and spirits.

The mission of Pontotoc Vineyard is to make vintage wines and spirits of exceptional quality from grapes grown solely in the Texas Hill Country. We are a fifth generation Texas farming family and take great pride in bringing the fruit of our labor to your table. We wish you the best in the enjoyment of our food and wine.
