🌱Greenhouse/High Tunnel updates!
🌱First picture: Heirloom Tomatoes, Eggplants and Beets had a slow start but with some carefully timed watering and fertilization with fish hydrolysate(organic fermented fish product), they are off to the races and the tomatoes will need to be staked and tied up very soon! Both the heirlooms and eggplants are already bursting with flowers.
🌱Second picture: Sweet Bell and Sweet Italian Frying Peppers and a single row of Heirloom Tomatoes, these we have been routinely watering with fish hydrolysate and the plants are double the size of the ones in the first tunnel, even though they were planted weeks later. The Pepper plants are loaded with green fruits already!
🌱Third picture: After a shaky start with our Cucumbers being eating alive by rolly pollys/potato bugs and having to replant quite a few, they are off and running and about ready to trellis towards the sky! These we will be trellising in a diagonal angle so that the cucs hang away from the leaves allowing for easier harvest and maintenance of the plants. Partnered with the cucs are hundreds of red and green head lettuces.
🌱All in all our High Tunnels are going to be booming with production in the next month or so!

🌱 It's one of our FAVORITE times of the season... Garlic Scape time!
🌱Find these delicious, succulent, slightly sweet and spicy Garlic Scapes today at the from 9am to 1pm!
🌱 We'll be downtown in the park with a host of other wonderful vendors and their home/farm grown, farm raised, handmade and artisan offerings.

🌱Cherry Tomatoes and Zucchini are finally planted out for the season!
🌱It was a big push to get all of these beds prepped and planted yesterday at our new farm in the FULL sunshine and warmth of the first taste of summer.
🌱Our process for bed prep is as follows:
- Pull weeds/mow down preexisting crops
- Broad fork to gently and deeply loosen soil
- Top with compost and rake out smooth.
- Drill holes with mini auger
- Transplant Seedlings
- Water in heavily with fish hydrolysate (natural fermented fish product)
- Recover with PVC low tunnels and white fabric for protection while the Seedlings get established.
🌱Before long this will be a whole block of deep green 8ft tall tomatoes and massive bushy zucchini squash plants!
🌱Last two pictures are of our Garden Guardian Skylar the Husky and a Golden Hour shot of our Sweet Pepper and Heirloom Tomato tunnel just before sunset.

🫛Sugar Snap Peas are finally trellised at our new property!
🫛Following the installation of a new deer/woodchuck fence to keep the hungry critters at bay.
🫛Apparently young tender pea shoots are a delicacy for both humans and animals alike....
🫛This season we are growing three colors of sugar snaps, green, purple and yellow!
🫛The vines are already starting to flower, so it's our hope to start harvesting them by mid to late June!

🌱There's so many options to find at the Farmer's Market in our small town:
- Truly Fresh Harvested produce
- Small scale Humanely raised meats (not factory farmed)
- Artisan foods and prepared meals
- The Freshest baked goods and breads
- Small scale produced Local Raw Honey and Maple products
- Natural healing Apothecary items like salves and balms
- Handmade goods such as jewelry and clothing

🌱Another great CSA distribution yesterday and our 3rd pick up of the season.

🌱A little walk through our tunnels!
🌱Heirloom tomatoes, Sweet Peppers, Eggplants, Cucumbers, Beets and Lettuces.
🌱As the season progresses we will continue to replant quick turnover crops likes beets and lettuce as intercropping/partner plants, making the most of this limited space we have in the tunnels.
🌱Now just to tend to them all!
🌱Trellising, tying, trimming, pruning, directing, weeding, watering, mulching and last but certainly not least Harvesting!

🌱Lots of summer crops getting planted into their forever homes!
🌱Sweet Peppers(Bell and Italian), more Heirloom Tomatoes and Slicing Cucumbers!
🌱All three of our high tunnels are now planted and ready to bring abundance to the community in the next several months.
🌱The last crops to be planted out in the field for summer production will be Cherry Tomatoes, Zucchini, Broccoli and Hot Peppers!
🌱Follow along to watch these plants become huge trees full of annual fruit and sustenance.

🌱We Farmers know how to have a good time...
🌱If we're not outstanding in our field during a rain storm, you can likely find us huddled underneath a pop up tent at a farmers market....
🌱That being said, we will still be vending today from 9am - 1pm in Fredonia downtown in the park, rain or shine!
🌱Jamestown Farmers Market will be indoors for the last time this weekend, before we move to our new outdoor location on June 6th.
🌱You can find us at St. Luke's on Main Street in Jamestown from 9am to 1pm.
🌱We all need to eat on a daily basis, why not nourish your body this week with fresh healthy produce harvested within hours of you receiving it?
🌱Pictured is our newly planted Cucumber Seedlings that just hit the ground running yesterday!
🌱Won't be long before they are 7ft tall, incredibly unruly and producing thousands of sweet, crisp, hydrating, delicious cucs for you all to enjoy 🥒🥒🥒
