Happy Birthday KTown!
Kathryn has really embraced her advanced age over the past few years. Her evolution into a card carrying AARP member has been quite impressive.
It all began during the COVID years when she started baking sourdough bread. Once she perfected the baking process she moved on to her next challenge, pottery.
Playing with clay was fun and she made lots of beautiful handmade gifts but Kathryn needed to turn her attention to the next conquest, reading.
Kathryn consumed all the classics. War and Peace, Animal Farm, Pride and Prejudice, Moby Dick, To Kill a Mockingbird plus many, many more. While she’s still a voracious reader it was time to segue to her penultimate pursuit, knitting.
Kathryn was born to knit. It’s in her genes. Failure was never an option. In a relatively short time she’s made many scarfs and sweaters. We’ve all benefited from her knitting expertise and have never been warmer. The knitting bug hit her so hard that she now schedules her vacations around knitting, yarn and fiber conferences. Whatever the knitting equivalent of Coachella is, Kathryn will be there.
Last but certainly not least, Kathryn’s journey to elder-statesman-status was recently completed by her latest endeavor, birding. Everyone knows that bird watching is the pinnacle of maturity and she has perfected it. Now her days are spent identifying which birds are chirping and where all the nests are located. It’s crazy around here. It’s like a rave every day.
Whether it’s baking, throwing clay, reading, knitting or birding, Kathryn is in the express lane to living her best retirement life.
